HP Reverb G2 uk release date?

So....booking time off next week wasn't cautious enough, I felt sure that hey would have it sorted by then. 'If' they ship on the 13th, and it takes 10 days to get to the distributer, that's 4th week in November before they get them to ship to us. And bearing in mind, they have seemingly missed at least two other promised (to SA) shipping dates, I'm not believing it until I see it.

Sweet.

Oh yeah forgot the 10 days thing. Does seem a bit excessive, 10 days to get to them, can only be coming by boat.

Still aiming for the hat-trick of new CPU, GPU and Reverb and no idea which I'm going to see first :)

So based on the previous posts it's looking like early pre-orders will be shipped to SA on the 13th, and as they say this takes 10 days so basically end of the month early preorder customers will start to receive them. So what happened to us getting them early November? That hasn't changed for the rest of the world, people who ordered in AUGUST are getting theirs now, while us early people sat here with at least another month to go...

It is what it is unfortunately. Nothing we can do about it. HP haven't handled this particularly well. I get that there are always problems. But a clear and truthful message to the people of which have paid their money to them would have gone a long way.

We will get them soon though!

Uk and Europe get stuffed for stock, just like we did with the RTX 3000s.

They're saying they leave the factory on the 13th, say they are delivered by air SA should have them by the 14th and start shipping to customers on the 15th, but that's for pre-orders before Sep 24th so I just can't compute how the hell those pre-ordered after Sep 24th are going to be getting theirs by early December. If they aren't shipped by air that compresses things even more so things just don't add up here. I smell some more BS on HP's part.

So it looks like the first batch is people who pre ordered before 9 pm 8th of July.

With my mid September order I might end up getting it in March :/

And I think I might have to order a 3080 as well.

Sigh, this year

Yeah, but just think how many "when will my HP reverb G2 turn up" posts you'll be able to,.... er, post, before it turns up in march. You should be able to pick up one for cheap in the members market by then. :D:D:D

That's my main complaint to be honest. Their complete inability to give us a firm date is woefully poor now that the factory has clearly started production - they will have to know what their daily production rate and where it's allocated to.

I expected delays when I pre-ordered it, but I also expected I'd probably at least know roughly when I'm going to get it by now.

C’est la vie. HP could definitely do better on the communication front (shame they are squandering all the good general user interaction work they do on the subreddit) but it isn’t the end of the world.

To add some gasoline onto your fire: who tells us the shipment that SA is due to receive on the 13-th will cover ALL the pre-orders of batch one (i.e. before 24.09.20)?
Bestware's first shipment covers something like 13% of their pre-orders. I'd be super happy, if the first SA shipment suddenly covers 50% of batch one pre-orders - that would be great.
Yeah, I think there is no way any batch 2 pre-orders will be fulfilled by early December.

Train I believe, shipping by boat from China can take weeks.

Can only fit a limited number on the Orient express I suppose. Hadn't even considered train as an option.
:)

I'm in a FB group and pre-orders in Australia started arriving in the last 24 hours, there's quite a few on there have already got their headset. Don't really understand why, if that's the case, the UK ones haven't even left HP yet :confused:. Something doesn't add up.

Hi all, received this email today not long ago. Looks like positive news:

We were going to wait until we knew the units had been shipped from Factory on Friday 13th before we gave an update as we have been misinformed a number of times before. However, we have received so many calls and emails in the last two days that we decided to put this out there and update again on Friday.

For enquiries about pre-orders before September 24th

"HP Press Release September 24th, 2020
  • Customers who have already pre-ordered the HP Reverb can expect to receive their shipments this fall, starting in early November 2020. Pre-orders are expected to be prioritized for the time/date the order was made to our channel partners.
We had a meeting with HP today (November 10th, 2020) and were told shipment from factory to the UK of first pre-orders will begin November 13th , 2020. Once we have proof units have left the factory for shipment to the UK we will provide our customers with an update on numbers and date of delivery to them.

SystemACtive have, in their comms stated. if you ordered before 24 Sept, you'll be in the first batch. Now, I'm not saying I necessarily buy that, but they said it. Unfortunately though, SA are beholden to whatever the **** HP are playing at, and it was obvious from when HP don't ever give a specific date, then push from late october, to "early november" you know they are having some issues. We can only speculate if that's manufacturing, production, or distribution, and we'll probably never know. But it's a sign they don't have their ducks in a row...

Haha, Don't think they'll be riding in coach! There is a major rail link to Europe for rail freight from china, big containers like you get on ships.

Trade route to Aus is shorter than it is to US so not surprising to see that they reached Aus first, from comments I saw on the subreddit it seemed UK and europe lost out on those first shipments because none of the units produced at had a UK or EU plug. No idea why, but that's just how they chose to do it.

The good news to take away is that units are arriving in peoples hands, just not ours yet. That's still far better than no one receiving anything because at least we know the ball is rolling and it's just a matter of time!

I think SA are only a little less in the dark than we are - that 24th cut off was the official HP line and nothing more. Until they know exactly how many units are arriving to them and when, which it seems they still don't know either of for sure, it would be impossible to say who is (and is not) in the first batch.

SA just told me that they have pencilled in the 25th for delivery to the warehouse for the first batch - that is if they actually ship on the 13th.

I would say that's a big if given they were previously told UK shipments would be week starting the 6th...

Until they actually have confirmation headsets (and how many) are on the plane/train/boat I will treat it all as wishful thinking! Would be good to get it before the end of the month though.

They (SA) hinted that they would get 1500 units, "which nearly clears all of the pre-orders" - or so they say. I believe SA are desperate to make that happen, but HP are unreliable - they might not ship them 1500 units, and might not ship this week.

Doesn't make any sense, it's just a different cable they chuck in the box.

I'm just so frustrated by all the smoke and mirrors from HP. I know delays happen for any number of reasons and I can accept that, but by this stage they will know exactly their weekly and monthly production capacity and it would be very easy to calculate pre-order clearing times but for whatever reason they've decided we aren't worthy of that information. Would give me serious reservations about ever purchasing from HP again.

Indeed, but iirc one of the HP guys on that subreddit post of the early shipment boxes said all the boxed up units had US plugs... would explain why European/UK reviewers got US plugs with their units. No idea why but perhaps the way the factory does it is a big run of units for a given localisation, then next batch for the next localisation and so on.
