lol supply and demand

supply has ran out therefore prices rise, i doubt you will see any go for less than £150, in fact im willing to bet on it.

even if demand falls, prices will only fall slightly, then demand will rise again, that's how it works.

they will be all sold out before it hits the £150 mark.

But supply hasn't run out (on eBay). My argument is that demand is dwindling as people remove themselves from the pool. The remaining people are not willing to pay the higher prices, thus the price falls.

surely it all depends on what the pricing threshold is? IF the consumer is willing to pay £200 for the Touchpad, then it will continue to be sold for £200. Potentially the seller will get nervous if there is excess stock on hand and reduce the price marginally, but I can't see it going for much less than £200..

The price will really tumble in a month or so when people have had them a while, realised they never actually wanted one, not confident enough to risk bricking it by installing android and start selling them as second hand.. form what I have read the app market on this is woeful, and with no future support for it, unless you install android on it, I think it is overpriced for a unsupported internet browser

once you have an established second hand market, the new price adjusts accordingly

Well, my hypothesis is based on a falling price threshold (as the bigger fish remove themselves from the pool). I'm talking about auctions rather than fixed price which would lead the fall before fixed price.

Just so I am no deluding myself, do we all agree it is now over? seems like there is physically no stock anywhere and none to come unless you have a mate in the USA..

I dont dispute that there may be an odd batch floating around but these would likely be sold to staff etc before that make it on to any website/store..

HP have said that will offer support, but nobody nows to what extent...

I know ;)

But I might be completely wrong

I think you might be, the preware apps are plenty and HP say they are continuing support, with the amount that have been sold in the last week I would expect lots of interest and also creation of apps.

What apps do you want over what there are already, you can surf, listen, watch, email, play games, read newspapers... what more do you want it to do?

/SHHHH I am trying to make myself feel better for not getting one, not through lack of trying though.

Is that from the 'dodgy link'?

Yes and no.

I'm a HP employee.

I got this email from the EPP chaps earlier:-

Dear xxxxxxx

Thank you for your email concerning the Touchpad.

Unfortunately, external sources gained access to the EPP Store.

Orders were cancelled or will not be processed by Tele Sales as and when they were/are discovered.

Kind regards

Subject: FW: HP Touchpads on hotukdeals, and people using HP's staff portal?

Please see below.

Are accounts going to be validated as genuine HP staff?

There will be a mighty amount of disgruntled employees if touchpads destined for HP employees have been dishonestly obtained by others.

Regards

Don't know if this has been posted but just came back from Comet and picked up a 32gb Touchpad I had paid for and ordered last week. They said there isn't available for sales and they are just honouring orders last week..:D

I managed to look on the screen when he was serving me and there was a note saying something along the lines of "none in stock and advise customers that they are just filling orders"

Fingers crossed on my Comet order.
