***HTC Magic Thread***

Hmm this is interesting. I can't actually select the £30/month plan. Whenever I click it, the page refreshes, and only £35/£40/£45 plans are available.

Ah I've worked it out. It's only available at £30/month on a 24 month contract :s.

Any vodafone users know the average time you have to wait until you can upgrade?

If you go to one of the phone suppliers you can get it for 30pm on an 18month contract, i'm waiting for mine to be delivered tomorrow

600 mins
Unlimited texts (3000)
unlimited internet (well 500mb!)

£30pm on 18 month contract with £20 cashback

Fair enough. Just don't like the idea of being tied to the same phone for 18 months, in the case of a better Android phone (undoubtedly) coming along in a years time.

Ah yeah found it. Do they pay vodafone a comission? Or get money for everyone they sign up? Why do they offer it for less?

Sigh I can't order from p4u, as the order form needs a home number (that isn't a mobile) :(.

Same!!! Thats whats stopping me getting a contract. As i'm only 16 and can't afford the £30/£35 a month contracts, all the £20 ones are 24 months and i don't really want to be stuck with that :(

what's internet browsing like ?

I've used itouch a bit and seems pretty good, similar performance ?

Pretty damn good if i must say so myself...reminds me of the web browsing on the iphone/ipod touch...very similar to that sort of experience.

The touchscreen on the Magic is very good...very responsive and accurate i find. I havent got any complaints about the web browsing...in fact im using my Magic to type this reply out:p

rahh cool ! and no typos so the keyboard must be pretty good.

Really want the phone.... got 3 months left to the end of my contract and also not sure if I can justify spending £30 a month for 18 months as I only pay £15 a month at the mo :(

No typos because the virtual KB features several neat features like auto typo correction and word suggest with custom dictionary additions (just hold a word for 1sec to add it!). :D

I've been looking at getting an iPhone but I have had a play with a Magic and it's a seriously cool bit of kit. If I ordered from Dialaphone or Phones4U can I transfer my number over from T-Mobile when my contract runs out?

Cheers,

Craig

Should be able to, IIRC you can port your number to another network no probs!

No settings needed dude, just loaded browser here and it worked!
