***HTC Magic Thread***

Resisted about 2 hrs before turning it on.

First impressions are wow! This phone rocks.

I have everything set up how I like it except for one thing which I don't think is possible but hopefully you guys can clarify. I want to sync with my work server for emails and calender. The server runs exchange 2003 and I used to do it through active sync on my old phone. Is there such a application that allows me to do this?

Also any further "must have" software you guys recommend?

What have you concluded is the best theme software?

Cheers for the help

Mine arrived today from phones4u :)

Played with it for 5 minutes and already prefer it to the iphone!

Any ideas how long it actually takes before you are connected to vodafone?

Got mine from Dial-a-Phone (part of phones4u) and was connected straight away:)

I also agree much better than the iphone.

Finished off Bonsai Blaster...what a cool and wicked game that was so now in the need of something just as addictive...ive got robo defense which is quite cool but not as addictive as Bonsai blaster.

Any other suggestions??.

The magic from Vodafone doesn't support active sync. Apparently the phone does support it but it's not there in the Google branded firmware that ships with the Vodafone version.

Please note that dial a phones quidco cashback has now gone down to £50, still a £95 saving though and still works out under £25 a month over the 18 months. One thing I forgot to say was that you can also stack RAF discounts onto this as well so an extra £20 to a friend or family.

Hey mate could you give me a pointer as where the other cashback comes from? I see it is now £50 from quidco but where does the other £45 cashback come from?

Am looking here and can't see http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/aw1/search.aspx?oc=18VD30M11

Can you save drafts of text messages on the HTC Magic?

Cheers

I can answer your first question, when you follow the link given by quidco to dial-a-phones website, you must then change the url to http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/youatwork/ then press enter, now complete your transaction as usually, then after an hour or so it will track on quidco, and dial-a-phone will send you details in the post with the phone stating they will be paying you 45 pounds within 28-40 days based on their you at work scheme.

Strange, just retry teh download really, see if that works!

If I get an HTC Magic, it'd be nice to have a cradle for it, both and home and at work.

Am I right in saying that this cradle with this cradle insert would work for me? Would the cradle or Magic insert come with the correct USB cable to connect the cradle to my PC?

Guessing if they don't then I either need this USB cable or this mini USB one?

Cheers. :)

Tis a standard USB mini cable so yeah should be fine, I'm using the Canon 40D USB cable on my Magic as the cable is longer so is nicely tucked under the external HDD when not in use, the HTC cable stays in the car as I can charge it from the stereo's USB port for quick charges.

Those cradles and inserts should be fine but do note that a white one also exists so would look nicer :p

3g & wi-fi. nothing works. have left one trying to download for about an hour on wi-fi!!

Can you browse the net though??...if you can then its usually the app that can get stuck...sometimes ive had an app get stuck so ive stopped it and then tried re-downloading it.

If you cant browse the net then its a network problem so give Voda a ring and see what they say.
