HTC U11

Just thought I'd bump this thread as it's been a little quiet over here.

Been getting solid battery life on the U11 however it hit 7hrs 25 mins SOT which is really surprising considering the battery is 3000mAh.

Sense UI is optimised well and the phone offers a fast and fluid experience. Definitely up there with the best flagships.

Seriously tempted to go back to another U11 especially as I can get a 128gb version for £430 ish, swapped back to a S8 recently and I'm beginning to regret it.....

That sounds like a total bargain! How / where from?
Its a cracking little phone to be honest. Had mine since release and cant really complain about it other than not being able to listen to music and charge it at the same time but thankfully the battery life is such its not become an issue yet and the app / ram clearing seems a little aggresive given it has 4gb
Only wish I'd waited till the red one was released.

You should buy the 128Gb version seeing as you can get it for around £430.

I had a similar experience last year when I switched from the HTC 10 to the S7E and I really regretted it. Kept wanting to revert back to the 10 but didn't want to go through the hassle of selling the S7E and buy the 10 again.

Ordered the red 128GB from fleabay for £500 ( -£20 Ebay code ). Did consider the UK version but they're asking for £630 via the hTC club so decided to go with the import. Come November all the heavy hitters should be out and will decide then if any are worth the £800-£1000 they'll be asking.

^Had to ditch my solar red HTC as dust got under the screen and I couldn't deal with it. Prior to noticing the dust under the screen I found that there was a sizable gap between the glass and metal chassis. I think the dust got in through the gap.

I really liked the phone so like Earth[Tera].bin I ordered a 128Gb version from eBay. I don't mind that it's not the European version as even with the HTC club discount £630 is too much to pay for the device.

Glad I did as the latest update popped up as soon as I switched on the phone. I now have the 60fps 1080p recording.

Mine is still in transit and should be with me Tuesday judging by the tracking. I had the black one at launch, cracking phone but it lacked the allure of the up and coming bezel less devices ( yeah, I'm a sucker for aesthetics) , so I offloaded it to make way for the Mi Mix .

Looking forward to getting one back though, I'm currently using a Butterfly and whilst it's not the fastest device I do feel pretty at home with sense UI and the U11 is a great all round device.

^So you played it say with regards to colour so what variant did you order this time around?

HTC Sense although rather boring does fly and is extremely well optimised. Hence the smooth experience and stellar battery life.

Although I must admit I'm also tempted by the bezel free phones in particular the LG V30 however I am going the same way as you with regards to what the other flagships will offer during the latter part of the year.

My days of buying flagship phones are numbered so I needed to get a phone that will get regular updates as well as last at least 2 years.

Yeah played it safe, the silver didn't look that good in my opinion so black it was. This time round went for the Solar Red, out of character for me, the loud colours, but with the black it does look good in shots. Hopefully it looks that good in real life.

You'll like the Solar Red it's certainly striking. The way it changes from Red to Bronze / Sunset colours is very eye catching. It'll remind you of Iron Man.
I would have gone for the Solar Red again but fancied a change so went for the Silver this time around. You made the right choice colour wise.

It did, it's a lot lighter than I thought ,possibly would have preferred the rim colour to continue onto the back but it's still a gorgeous looking phone. Trying to think of some negative points but, aside from my the edge sense - which is fairly redundant for me, it's all good. Camera and audio is spot on and the UI is smooth as hell.

I didn't use edge sense thingy for the first few months but turned it on a few weeks ago for launching the camera and I'm sold. Definitely quicker than double tapping the power button.

Yes, probably should give it a bit more of a chance . There's also an app called edge sense plus which allows the mapping of other functions which might help it be more useful.

yeah I read about that but believe HTC are working on their own improvements so will probably wait for that.
had the 60FPS / august security update arrive a few days ago and have to say the 60fps video recording is pretty damn good! nice freebie feature I had no idea about when originally purchased the phone
