HTC Vive

Anyone got any suggestions for games that work well with only one base station? I'm going through the agony of waiting for a replacement so i've just been playing Audio Shield and VR Pong Waves for the last 2 weeks, any other suggestions for games that you just face one direction would be appreciated.

Space Pirate Trainer?

mostly 180 degrees :p

Just been trying vivecraft and it's pretty great, tried it a while ago and just didn't feel right but now it's so much better, definitely worth a try.

It's not often I buy something and it's more expensive a couple of months later. I can understand the price hike though given the £ vs $. Unfortunately we are going to be paying more for all of our imported goods for a while.

tbh, i was entertaining the idea of buyin one of these, but considering the price, which is massively stupid for what it is, i will be waitin for a while when they get around the price they should have been at launch, (more around the 200 quid mark, yes i know will probably be gettin second hand when i get one at that price) i honestly believe thats about what theyre worth, 770 quid is just a joke lets be honest, considering a lot of people need hardware to support it, without the controllers, its just an overpriced screen with some movement sensors, been playin with a phone in a headset, and its pretty good, so can imagine the vive is much better, but defo not this pricing

I know its expensive but it is quite a complex bit of kit.

A decent graphics card is over £500 now yet we complain about £750ish for room scale VR?

Don't get me wrong, it is expensive, but they are here to make money and run a business, that's the way of it. You take out the various costs, taxes etc and who knows what they make, but its likely not as much as people think considering the parts.

yeah i get that, but if someone wants vr, and doesnt have for example the right gfx card, means they have to buy as new card, and fork out the 750 quid for the vive as well, htc have kinda put the price out of some peoples range, i could get one at that price, but i refuse to, im lucky, my card does support vr, according to amd site and steam vr test, but for someone else, i think its just massively overpriced, and a slow start to gettin vr into the mainstream

Well, there are cheaper options?

To say that it should be £200 is madness.

If you don't want to pay for it, and the experience, then don't. I'm sure Samsung and other do VR stuff for a lot less.

the only advantage over the others i can see for now, is the controllers, the rift has awful ones, out of them all the vive does look the best, but yeah, im gona wait till theyre cheaper

If you mean graphics cards, the 780ti is massively underrated. It performs about the same as a 970 - 980 and has never run out of memory (despite what people say). They run for about £170 on eBay.

If anyones interested these 10m cables work fine with the vive.
Startech 10m active hdmi model hdmm10ma.
Csl usb 2.0 10m repeater model 23994/20151008sz021.

Can anyone advise how to set it up to work with just one lighthouse for when just sitting down at your desktop? My desk isn't inside the play area.

I assumed I would just plug one in, sit it on the desk and the headset can track it. But I'm finding with just one lighthouse plugged in nothing seems to work, I just get a message saying it can't track the headset despite the fact I'm looking right at it.

Steam is showing the one lighthouse connected.
