Human Centipede 2 was submitted to the British Board of Film Classification and rejected on the basis that it is "sexually violent and potentially obscene"

It was not submitted to be viewed in cinemas, but as a straight to DVD release. I suppose this is because they made basically nothing from cinemas on the first one but made a considerable amount on DVD sales.

I suppose most of you hated the first one, but I thought it was pretty creepy to watch and a bit funny at just how bad the film was. It's a shame because they will probably have to cut out most of the worst bits for it to be accepted.. And the worst bits are the point of the film.. To make the goriest worst horror film possible?

I watch this kind of crap and worse, and I don't hate my dad. Maybe it's the dads of the yoof crowds you're hanging out with that have the issue, rather than the film?

i wont get drawn into it, each to there own, but some of the messed up kids that watch this should not.. that's all im saying. you know as well as i do they can access it as well as other stuff and its not good for them.

im no goody two shoes either, done my stint behind bars, and like i said each to there own, but i generally don't get why people would choose to watch this.. violent or gangster films (neither i really like) but can see the attraction.... however i don't seriously get why people would wanna see what happens in that film????

no offence intended Robbie

I cant say I enjoyed the first one, I simply watched it out of curiosity after everybody started talking about it at work. Same will probably apply to the second one, although I really think its just being messed up for the sake of shock value.
Once you get over the concept of the centipede the first one wasnt really that shocking (except the american girls acting!).

How the hell are those two statements related?

i was trying to state, im not some disproving old fudger peering over his glasses,

my original point was and is, got a couple of messed up kids into dark stuff as it is, and they constantly watch stuff like this, and that's not good

Are we really supposed to care about this? The first one was rubbish, so this is only really relevant as a decision if the film is any good. If isn't, it's best that no one sees it.

it should be banned purely because of the terrible acting.

let alone the terrible writing, lack of plot and all round failure.

Tefal if you were in that predicament and only had the choice to be in the center or at the back, which position would you take and why?

Censorship in this country is a joke full stop.

Despite the various restrictions sky have put on boxes to prevent minors from accessing porn, they still take the attitude that R18 material cannot be broadcast in any form in the UK.

Which is a joke tbh, how much more emotionally disturbed is a 10 year old boy going to be seeing hardcore instead of softcore ?

And thats before we get onto the ease with which kids stumble across porn on the internet. And that the rest of europe is quite happy to broadcast hardcore porn without the sort of restrictions sky puts in place.

I'm sorry but this:

“Examples of... (the sexual arousal by torture) include a scene early in the film in which (the central character) masturbates whilst he watches a DVD of the original Human Centipede film, with sandpaper wrapped around his penis...” and “a sequence later in the film in which he becomes aroused at the sight of the members of the ‘centipede’ being forced to defecate into one another’s mouths, culminating in a sight of the man wrapping barbed wire around his penis and raping the woman at the rear of the ‘centipede'.”

Is simply obscene and I have no issue with it being banned, if people really want to see it they will find ways to. God help these people because anyone who goes out of their way to see something like this has issues.

Censorship is not about preservation, it is about politics. Murdoch censors such material because a) he happens to agree, but mostly b) because it's the price of being allowed to pretty much own the media in the UK. If he was to start broadcasting hard-core to the UK then it's a lot more likely that the government would clamp down on his empire.
