Hungarian Grand Prix 2014, Hungaroring Race - 11/19

If we're going to have the controversial 50 point win for the last race of the season I want to see it win one of them the title after being behind. Not saying I agree with it and I'd hate to be the driver coming second but from a neutral point of view it could really turn a heated battle in to pure hatred. Last lap battle winner takes all

Yes but I can't work out why 24 pts?

Personally hoping the championship is either;

a) stolen due to the double points sytem, so everyone thinks they aren't a true champion (just for a bit of drama lolz)
or b) wrapped up already, with WDC leader being over 50 clear going into the final race. (because stupid rule is stupid)

I was trying to understand why Hammy (in the last 10 laps or so) didn't come back in for softs, as he was 14sec clear of Rosberg, who had just stopped. Catching at 3s a lap would have meant easily coming first or merc 1,2

If it goes to the final race, I see a Senna-esque move taking both cars off the track.

This forum is so black and white - you're either a complete fan boi or a hater.

Indeed. I've pointed this out a few times. There is a really odd insistence of only accepting a binary argument. I've been accused of sleeping with Murdock and having shares in BSkyB because I thought the Sky deal was only "annoying and expensive" rather than the worst thing to happen to the world of sport ever. I've been labelled a Hamilton fanboy for suggesting that not every single incident he was ever involved in in 2011 was Hamiltons fault. And a Vettel fanboy for not wishing he would crash into a wall and die.

Any sort of middle ground, or reasonable debate with compromises on either side is just completely impossible on here.

This forum is just full of too many teenage boys in love with Lewis Hamilton and hate Jenson Button because he's the only team mate that's beaten their hero. Therefore lots of love for Lewis, lots of hate for Jenson and then you get a few Alonso, Kimi etc. fans thrown in. Simples.

Trolling or serious?

You've said this before. However, seeing as most people here are British (it's not an 'English' thing, be clear) then of course they arn't going to complain or cry foul about a British driver in a British team.

You're kind of contradicting yourself, Alonso would never have got McLaren as onside as Hamilton because of the above, just like Hamilton will never get to be the top man at Merc.

With Rosberg being so clever and Hamilton being 'brainless' I'm rather impressed Hamilton is doing as well as he is.

So as long as I know you subscribe to double standards that's cool. No use whinging about Rosberg being the top boy when you are happy when he was at mclaren. I don't think it has anything to do with nationality, just how the driver endears himself to the team. Hamilton has done that badly at merc. Alonso could have been at mclaren but he was an idiot.

I didn't say Rosberg was clever, I think he's played the team game better than Hamilton. I also think he's average and many people here think button is too, that's two average drivers that have gotten under his skin.

Got to ask. Do you really think your mature enough to have two children? What kind of bed time stories do you read them.

And this comes from a PC tech that doesn't know how to use a USA plug!

I'm sure I remember a time when smr was a reasonable and moderate poster on these forums. And then a couple less reasonable posters came along which made smr go slightly mad, and things have been pretty grim here ever since.

Back to the race, gosh it was good. Say what you like about the title battle already being decided, and I agree, but the on-track racing has been phenomenal this season. Hungary shouldn't produce a nail biter like this. A lot of people are saying that Ricciardo was driver of the weekend, and I love the guy, but for me it was all alonso or hamilton. Ricciardo was outqualified by Vettel on saturday, but the safety car put him in front, and Vettel's spin sealed the deal. Alonso obviously did fantastically well, he's probably my driver of the weekend. And then of course hamilton, eye catching superb drive but in a car with a massive advantage over the rest of the field. How he was so much quicker than Rosberg to not just catch up with but get past him despite his disadvantage (which was still sizeable even after the safety car helped) I don't know. With the options on instead of primes, it would have been a record breaking result from the pit lane.

I don't think Rosberg's too bad tbh. Last year he only finished 20 or so points behind Hamilton despite 3 DNFs due to his car failing and he was in points scoring positions in all three of those races. If he was average I'd expect him to be finishing a lot further behind Hamilton than that. This year tells a different story and Hamilton's the one having the bad luck but I'm not seeing one amazing driver vs an average one.

Edit: Average to me is Alonso vs Massa in the Ferrari.
