Hungarian Grand Prix 2014, Hungaroring Race - 11/19

Personally hoping the championship is either;

a) stolen due to the double points sytem, so everyone thinks they aren't a true champion (just for a bit of drama lolz)
or b) wrapped up already, with WDC leader being over 50 clear going into the final race. (because stupid rule is stupid)

If the championship is decided before double points come into play, Bernie will just suggest extending it to three double points races. He already has done, in fact.

If there's going to be double points anywhere, it would be better to give each team (or driver) a joker that will give them double points in a race of their choice. The joker would have to be played before the race began - possibly before qualifying, but I'd prefer after so a midfield team that fluked into pole could try and make the most of it.

Yes, very much prefer this idea and actually wouldn't mind it. Adds a bit more excitement and doesn't look fixed

I dunno why Mc did what they did. Caterham or Lotus etc I can understand. But Mc did have potential of a decent amount of points. Risks like that are for no hopers

This forum is just full of too many teenage boys in love with Lewis Hamilton and hate Jenson Button because he's the only team mate that's beaten their hero. Therefore lots of love for Lewis, lots of hate for Jenson and then you get a few Alonso, Kimi etc. fans thrown in. Simples.

have to agree with the hamilton love fest... it's cringe worthy at times

Nothing wrong with showing your support for a top driver?

Of course not! I don't think anyone is saying otherwise, but there are some here who take it a little bit too far and when 2 opposing opinions/favourites clash is when it often spirals into stupidity.
I don't understand the all or nothing mentality, that being a fan of someone means it is impossible to ever put them at fault for just about anything.

Well there's nobody on the grid who is as good as Hamilton. He is the best.

In fact I might go as far to say Hamilton is the best F1 driver to have ever competed. He's a machine.

Go Ham! *waves flag*

Double points, DRS, Kinetic energy recovery, won't be long before Bernie suggests green and red shells.

Mclaren doing what I was getting at yesterday then...

"The Woking-based squad blamed this strategic error on faulty radar equipment, and Boullier conceded McLaren would have to alter its approach towards weather-based strategy in future races."

If they are all using the same radar equipment as other posters have said then I wonder why it was only Mclaren's which went faulty.

I definitely get the feeling that Mclaren are too reliant on crunching numbers and data though, there needs to be more of a human element in the decision making progress - I'd be fascinated to see what all of the teams radars looked like in comparison to one another.

I said that last season.

They have obviously been using this equipment for many years then without realising :p

On another note, not sure if true, but I read that Hamilton has gained 50 places in the last 4 races - impressive if true, even in the Mercedes considering how much of a liability some of the other drivers are!

Waah waah waah from Rosberg I see.

I'm forced to notice that, despite the amazingly bad luck Hamilton's had, he doesn't whinge about it or complain. Sure he's disappointed when things go wrong but he doesn't go off on one.

Rosberg has one bit of bad luck with the SC and moans. The SC is deployed for safety reasons Nico, when the need arises, not delayed until it's convenient for you, even if you're leading the race

I thought Lewis was supposed to be the emotional one? ;)

EDIT: Actually, now I think about it, Lewis did have a moan about a SC - in Monaco, or rather the team's decision not to pull him in a lap earlier than they did. That was obviously a team one because Nico was leading and they felt it would have been unfair to disadvantage Nico by allowing Lewis to pit first. Swings and roundabouts Nico.

Well he also says he got stuck behind the medical car...there was potentially an injured driver on the track, but let's not rush to get there, let's wait for a time when it suits Rosberg!

I was just about to post this exact same thing about Lewis.

I've been impressed with the way he has handled himself post Silverstone, he was obviously upset after Qualifying in Hungary but he didn't carry any of that childish aura that he sometimes tends to, just knuckled down with the job at hand and delivered a decent result on Sunday.

Credit where credit's due.

To be fair to NR he's not exactly throwing a paddy while saying all of that. Interview here.

I said after quali on Saturday that I thought Lewis conducted himself much better than in previous interviews after things have gone wrong.

Having said that, I also read that he left the circuit straight after his media commitments and ducked out of the team debrief so he clearly still had a diva moment!
