HUNGARORING - BUDAPEST - HUNGARY Grand Prix 2009 - Race 10/17

Considering his CV, Piquet has more going for him than some and it is clear he's had the sticky brown end of the stick at Renualt and had some bad luck.

Don't be so quick to read into what Piquet JR wrote on his website. That is PR spin and he is spinning his poor performance so that he at least has a chance to get another drive. Nothing wrong with that, but you have to read between the lines. The fact is that he was probably one of the worst drivers out there during the last 12 months. If you doubt this, just look back at the comments in the racing threads and see how almost everybody expects Piquet JR to crash out at any moment.

The guy has seriously underperformed due to the incredible pressure he was under. Every race that went by, the press were implying that he was about to be fired. You try working under those conditions - not easy. Alonso did so in 2007, but Alonso is probably the best driver in F1 right now. Piquet leaves A LOT to be desired.

How many times did Piquet outqualify Alonso in 2008? Anybody remember?

And why should he? Hamilton is a top driver and that is all he wants to be. If he chose to go the triathlon route, I'm sure he would be better and maybe even beat Button. Instead, Hamilton has chosen to focus on F1..

Hahaha it was just a bet after Hamilton made comments about being the fittest driver. Jenson threw out a challenge for charity. Hamilton accepted and his dad poo'd himself.

How do you know how much Jenson applies himself away from the circuit compared to Lewis. It's not like either live in the country and the last few years it's all been shots of Louie being the playboy not Jenson.

Thats just the tabloids anyway who knows how much they put in in comparison to each other. I've heard nothing bad about Jenson applying himself since his Benetton days.

I just remembered I never updated OP. Sorry I'm like a week and a bit late but here it is

Why didn't they attack Red Bull as well.

Jesus wept. Isn't it a bit ******* obvious?

Pitpass in that article said:
Just for the record, the Scuderia Ferrari had given its approval to the Alguersuari test

They were okay with Red Bull's junior squad letting Jaime have a run in his car before the GP weekend. Who wouldn't have been? It's not as if, even with the recent upgrades, the car was much of a threat for the frappin' podium without some major disaster (Monaco '96, Spain '97, Spa '98 etc). So why, if they were fine with Red Bull having that sort of testing session, would they come out and attack them now? As Haug says, one day those teams will need a favour. And Ferrari are probably going to be in the position to help them in that case.

There's also the small matter of Ferrari supplying engines to one of the ******* Red Bull teams, but I thought that was a bit obvious to mention oooooooooohhhh I guess it wasn't.

*sigh*

You seem like a reasonably intelligent guy dannyjo22. So I hope you'll take the above in the spirit it was intended.

I.e. - complete and utter derision.

:D

P.S. Sorry if the above offends. Really. I have no intention of falling out with you. But that was just too much of an opportunity to miss.

So why, if they were fine with Red Bull having that sort of testing session, would they come out and attack them now? .

Because in case you missed it Red Bull are one of the teams that Vetoed Schummies test. You would think they would be doubly ****ed that they said OK to the sister team and then the main team peed on them?

Thats why I'm suprised they didn't attack Red Bull as well. It's not like Ferrari need them more Torro Rosso needs a decent engine.

But Marc, doesnt all this go against the spirit of fair play?

Surely Ferrari wouldnt dare break the rules agreed by the FIA and accepted by FOTA, by having their driver TEST a 2009 car?

Surely, a team would not go against the spirit of the game, in order to gain an advantage.

:p
Doesn't what go against the spirit of fair play?

To be honest were it me and I voted to allow Toro Rosso to test a new driver and then when it turned around and I wanted to test a driver they voted against it, i'd be more annoyed, not less.

Doubly so when you're providing that team with engines and they screw you - I don't get how that would make less you annoyed.

I'm afraid I don't follow your logic there. Ferrari did Toro Rosso a favour (or at least tried) and now the tables are turned Red Bull have screwed Ferrari and opposed their testing. I'd be expecting Ferrari to be on full attack for that sort of thing, especially if they're having a pop at Williams for the same thing.

That's not the way Ferrari work. If they were going to go off one one at STR/Red Bull, they'd do it away from the glare of the press. Williams, who have a been a major rival of theirs for many more years and aren't one of the FOTA cartel, are a much better target :)

Don't you mean EASY target ;)

Lets look at it

Ferrari= We have banned Williams from the FOAT
Williams= does not say a word.
---------------------------------------------

Williams= We don't agree to MS driving because it against the rules.

Ferrari= Well im telling my mom and i am going to cry and kick and stamp my feet.

in a nut shell..

Gutted..

How long does it take to heal then! Need to Google about the accident to learn more as it sounds like it was a big accident.

They used the phrase "fractures in the area of head and neck, unfortunately have turned out to be still too severe"

So, after months of denying it... yes he had a fracture, in fact, multiple fractures and the injury was much worse than they admitted. Which would be also why he's not got back on a superbike since - especially as he's made a bit of a habit of falling off them.
