Hurricane Sandy

Just ignore him, he's trolling as he obviously has some kind of storm envy. Hope your brother stays safe.

I know - just frustrating when you have family in possible danger and ou get someone like that. I could get bannewd so easily if I said what I want to say!

That document says it had sustained winds of up to 44m/s at landfall, which is just into category 2, which is what I said... At Long Island it suggests approx 33m/s which is barely category 1.

did you read the part about Macarthur airport, Battery park, the water level, etc... or do you just select one line that accomaodates you? ;) Sandy is not as strong so i fail to see your point

you really are as bad the boy who cried wolf or are you a drama queen

stay tuned and we will see if it's as bad as they say ;)

I am currently tuned - it's actually looking worse than they thought. Every official in the NE (not the media....) are saying it's the worst storm in living memory for that region.

You are clearly not keeping up with this and I don't know what your problem is anyway

What? I haven't said anything more than 'it looks bad' or along those lines. Drama queen... Lol.

Your Wikipedia reference suggests gusts of category 3 speeds. The same paragraph from which you refer to states sustained winds at Long Island of 95mph, which is Category 1. The same paragraph also states that Gloria failed to produce significant rainfall, and that it moved quickly. This is from your own reference. If you're going to quote Wikipedia at least read it...

Edit: almost forgot about Battery Park- your own reference states storm surge was low, peak of 6.9ft. At Battery Park, storm surge is projected at up to 11ft for Sandy. The irony of you suggesting I select one line that accommodates me ;)

Sandy is currently the same strength, bigger, and moving slower, and hitting directly. What part of that makes you think it's not going to be at the very least as bad as Gloria?

I also have the TV on and it reminds me of the pre-Irene hype. do you remember that? it's their job to senstionalize :P

About right :p

Atlantic City boardwalk is flooded and chunks missing already.

And Sandy still hasn't come ashore yet...

what US news station is everyone watching?

Mostly CNN, CNBC. I try to avoid Fox at all costs. They do make things exciting though, lol. CNN just had some wacky Japanese professor on who reckons Hurricane Katrina pales in comparison as it was relatively small in area.

Also they have some idiot reporter in Atlantic City who is determined to report in what looks like appalling conditions, I keep expecting to see him getting swept away.
