I am such a muppet :(

I'll be stunned if you get anything other than 6 points and a hefty fine.

If you've been driving for less than two years then wave goodbye to your license.

I know, doing near double the limit in a 30 is something I just cant do though.
Hmm. It does depend on the road though, I'll have to mention. Having been present while a car does over 5 times the posted speed limit, I can say it wasn't the proudest moment of my life, but not that dangerous.

You gotta also remember that the quicker you go the more residents nearby are likely to notice the effects of your car, as in, noise, or if a lorry, wind - 'thrush'...rite?

I had 3 points and a £60 fine for that exact offence. Standard fixed penalty.
That's lucky as hell tbh. I got the same for 48 in a 30 years back and considered myself very lucky with that.

they said mine was to fast to be a fixed penelty and i would have to go to court
The officer who pulled me in said "Now would you like this to go to court so you can contest it or would you rather take it on the chin?"

I replied with the latter, he issued the ticket, job done.

Perhaps he noticed the "Mae Cyflymder Yn Lladd!" sticker in the back window of the Golf (It means "SPEED KILLS" in Welsh :D)

Maybe i'm over optimistic but you might be ok with that one. If it had been 60+ it would be a different matter.

Whether it was extreme or not really does depend on the road. I do 60+ in a 30 on an almost daily basis. Am I stupid for doing it? Maybe. Does it make me a child killing maniac? No, but you would need to drive that piece of road to see if you agree or not.

Hope it goes ok for you, it would be so easy for me to sit here shaking my head in disgust but in my youth i've done 80+ in a residential area at 3am. Luckily I eventually grew out of it.

i have so learnt my lesson now.

i guess i just have to tell *** judge that and try and get them to belive it. hoping it wont put my insurance up to much :(

i didnt auctually see any speed signs on that road in that direction either :(

my own stupid fault really.

i am going to have to pay the price now. and its gunna be costly

Just a good job you weren't doing more than double the speed limit dude - They REALLY frown upon that :S

Could be worse, I once knew of one idiot who did close to 160mph on a 30 road in his sierra Cossie - Was a loooong time ago but what a stupid thing to do! :o

the copper did tell me that just a few months ago he caughts a guy on a dual carrage way 50mph speed limit doing 112mph and he got 6 weeks disquilification and no points and just court fee's
