And a steady, decent income, I made the mistake of trying to carry all the costs of a relationship with a younger women.

Now I have a lovely lady 1 month older than me who is going to be raking in the dosh when she get's her accountancy qualification at the end of next year :D

Thats what I need :( Unfortunately the level of maturity within Reading isnt of the highest.......going to have to get up off my arse and look further afield.

My sister's 17 and is going out with a 24 year-old ... they seem to be OK for now but I can't help but feel it's going to go horribly wrong, soon...

Been there, done that, its fine providing you can trust the guy (ps I was the guy in another story) :D

Im more than happy to :p if it was the same guy i predicted this was gonna happen but she was too in love to listen...

Why would you wanna help a 16 yr old lass for free ;) :D

unfortunately you fell for another of lifes losers.

write the stuff off and keep legs closed for a few months into a relationship at least. if he loves you he'll wait.

either that or im too old fashioned - i'm only 25 as well.

sorry if thats harsh..

when it comes to things like this us guys do have it easier, seems to be all too common for guys to treat their other halves pretty badly, yet don't often seem to see it the other way round. or maybe that's just with my friends and/or working with a load of gossipy girls.

Megzy, when you hit 19 you will realise that you have changed a hell of a lot in the previous 3 years and most 16 year olds will seem pretty childish to you. Pretty much the only reason that a 19 year old will go out with a 16 year old is because 16 year old girls are very anxious to please so will generally give the guy what he wants.

Try to find someone who is your own age, and you will find that most 24 year olds will be completely unable to connect with you because they have experienced a lot more than you have.

Sorry to hear this megzy :(
Did you know him long? He sounds like he only had one thing on his mind in the first place. Next time try taking things a bit slower, you're 16, no rushing needed ;)

P.S If I have to listen to Westlife or Shania Twain again today, I think i'm going to hang myself.

Umm also is 24 to old for a 16 year old? :p
Don't ask!
maybe not for some. but for you, yes i'm afraid so! i don't want to be mean, but otherwise we're going to have a "i'm going out with a 24 year old and he wants me to move in with him" thread. you know you aren't ready for this i think, deep down at least.

Thanks everyone, feeling so much better now :p
Just arranged to meet up with one of his mates :p
I have one of his mates t-shirts so... um.. I have to give it back :D

just my tuppence worth as i like to stick my oar in....

my last GF was 17 and i was 22 when we first went out... she'd only just turned 17 though so it was 5yrs+ age gap...

had a great 2 years so it can last a bit but in the end her immaturity and deceit showed through so things came to an end. your not the only bad judge of character around.

you live and learn so don't think all men are _______s (insert word here - i'm not as i got suspended last time)

in the mean time just enjoy yourself and for god sake dont do anything stupid... like get pregnant(i know a couple who did at 17 and were single parents by 18! screws your life up big style!)....
