I got me 3D printer, awesome!

:-)

So Ultimaker robot on the 1st print and see how it goes ....

I have not even used the stuff I got with it as my other printer I used Voltivo ExcelFil – High grade 3D Printing Filament so I have some of that in 3mm to test / use

So far only used PLA with it as for ABS I need to make a nice cover to help stop all the heat related problems

I've printed all the examples and results look good. Need to order some more filament as bored of stuf that came with it now :)

Well the Voltivo ExcelFil is good .. tho not used anything else but it worked on my other printer and its gone well on this as well

See a lot use the colorfab stuff

Seen a few upgrades .. not done anything but half tempted with the mod to change the fan holder bit ..

Find on my robot man the right side is not as good as the left on the ear part

you know what I have only printed the robot man from the SD card

3D Printing Reviews first product review. 3D-EEZ build plate film, http://3d-printing-reviews.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/product-review-1.html.

Currently printing a UV reactive filament sample.

For those of you looking at trying some new filament, I will be reviewing a new filament from a company here in the UK called, Floreon 3D. Wont be for a few weeks as I have samples to print, but I might be a preview up if your interested?

Also would be great to see what everyone is printing, so please post some pictures ;).

James.

What is the price like on that stuff ?

Richard

The Floreon stuff? available from the rain forest place @ £34.99. As I said I will be reviewing it at some point, but haven't even opened the box yet as I other stuff to do.

and the UV stuff mmm more information on that

What you want to no? It's available as a sample from where I get my filament samples from, see my blog.

It's an off white filament once printed and when placed in UV light (sun light) it turns purple or blue (2 different filaments)

While I'm here what are the rules on talking about other retailers?

Cheers for the clue brain did not work but it clicked and found it ..

only listing 1.75 stuff ..

my other can use that but I was after getting the UM2 happy then deciding if I needed to keep the other

my other is good but the UM2 is much better and lots more bed space for projects

I'm looking at getting a BigBox Printer in a few months. It does all the kinds of filament I want plus it does ninjaflex with no problem.

The UV filament is not to bad I was hoping for deeper colour.

Did you back the kickstarter Deuse?

I'm currently backing the NFire1, a delta style printer.

Richard-h2, I'll get in touch with my contact at Floreon 3D, to see if they plan on a 2.85 or 3mm filament. Speaking of which can the UM2 only print 2.85 or does 3mm fit?

J.

No I didn't. Is the NFire1 the one with a built in scanner?

One thing I like about the big box is that it'll do 20 micron print.

Well decided to print out a #3dbenchy

Not bad .. tho when its just doing the hut bit on it .. so the boat part is complete it slows right down just doing that bit and thing this is where the heat gets to much for the PLA as its not quite as good there

Think adding another part to the build plate would help it out a bit

The rest looks good ..

Boat is nice and can read the txt on the bottom .. Over hangs are nice and clean

Cant read the txt on the back .. but I did print on the setting they say 0.2 so U can just make it out but not enough .. tho not sure you will at 0.2

Just need to work out how to adjust the heat or see if printing another part is best way to help it cool down on that part..

Adjust your extruder temps to what the PLA should be. I have mine between 160-180.

I have the pla set at just lower than there site says .. Did another test last night to look what going lower will do was another Gcode print that lowers the temp printing same thing out with some over hangs and stuff

Think the problem is that the speed drops to very slow .. so the heat will be more as its only doing that area ..

The software I use to slice shows the speed it will be working at ..

Printed at 35 or 40 mm/sec cant remember but at that point it looked if I remember correct it was going to be running at about 7mm/sec might have been less ..

Found the setting that allows me to stop it going so slow .. going to try again .. same setting just tell it to not allow it to slow down so much

think adding another object would help but want to see if I can do it without doing that or I would be wasting PLA on another object.

Will see if I can upload the pic later
