Good effort Piggy. I handed mine in last week. I finish next Wednesday - YIPEE! :)
 
I handed in my notice last week......working for NHS Direct and getting pressured to get the call times down is a barrel of laughs, not. We have 3.5 minutes to get rid of people. Plus constant lousy shifts (plus other factors) means I've jacked it in.

We're screwed financially, but I'm not stressed and I actually get to see my husband occasionally now which is a novelty! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Sadly I had a headache this weekend, so couldnt make it into work :(

My first IT job was working Officejet support for HP (a contract that just got shipped to India, meaning all my former [incompetant] managers are out on their ears).

6 Months of less than 2 seconds between calls, 7 minute AHTs and general arseyness gave me a stress-induced stomach ulcer at the age of 18.

3 years on and I have the cushiest job ever - 8 hours a day, I take about 10 calls a day and have an average call time of under a minute (very specific remit of work - we've gone from being a tech support centre to what amounts to a switchboard)...I haven't actually done the job which I am paid to do for over two months as the opportunity to do it just doesn't exist.

Oh well, hopefully I'll be away soon, training in Chatham, Kent for 6 weeks for a new role (that place seems like a dump...not relishing 6 weeks there) then back up North and relishing a 100% raise.

God help Braintree is all I can say ;) :p

Glad you got out of there though Piggy, it wasn't doing you any good at all. Hopefully you can find something much better now :)
 
I just read this post for the first time. I once had a job, I worked for Mcdonalds when i as 17 for 4 months as a part timer to help with college. On my 18th birthday (saturday) i went out and drank till 6am. 1 hour late for work I turned up acting sober. Served the first customer and got sick all over his tray full of rank breaky food. Turned round to the manager and told him this jobs sucks and he can stick where the sun dotn shine before he could sack me!

Dont work jobs you dont like, you only live once.

Not quite the same though is it. Piggy is actually trying to help customers and not being allowed to. You were just sick on a customers breakfast :p

Handed my letter in earlier .. damn it felt good ;)

What's made me giggle is that my HR rep said we need to have a meeting this afternoon to review my PIP .... as if I give a crap :p
