"I hate smokers" thread

No I have to agree with the OP - it's a stupid ignorant and intrusive habit that is ultimately selfish and harmful to others. Up there with being overweight, drinking too much and being a football fan...

*the last one might be a joke... might be...

At least smoking and drinking is paying for your health care, what do fatties do?

Do you guys kick up a fuss by confronting inconsiderate smokers, or just silently sulk and wait till you are home to rage on a Random GD thread once a week ?

I dont hate smokers - some of my best friends smoke. The hating went away after the ban on indoor smoking in public places lol. They wanna beat their lungs up & throw £ at it - KNOCK YOURSELF OUT :)

But I really dont get people who smoke in their houses - I guess they get so used to the smell it doesnt phase them anymore.

But for real - the best thing to happen is this ban on smoking inside restaurants, bars etc. What a relief.

And last of all - its funny how a lot of my mates who smoke cry about being broke - but somehow theres always money for fags & booze. Lmao.

You shouldn't hate them, you should pity them.
A drug so addictive that even though they know what it's doing to them and more than likely know several people who have had agonising deaths through smoking, still go on and do it because they are incapable of fighting it.
Whenever I see somebody light up I just think 'What a shame'.

LOL...ohh just stop it..for the love of god....we don't want your pity..we want people like you stop thinking so much up your own bum holes.

DO you feel sorry and pity overweight people going into a McDonalds?
Do you pity every persons that drinks over the recommended about of alcohol units per day? ( a much larger contributing factor over to the health of the UK through heart diseases than smocking could ever claim to have)
DO you pity every alcoholic?
What about people developing Diabetes thru a bad diet..etc etc.etc...

Yes, yes, yes and yes but if you use your one brain cell you will see that this thread is about smoking and wasn't about the other things you mentioned.

No I laugh at overweight people going into McDonalds. /don't even care.

For those saying deal with it what about asthma sufferers like myself who are born with it? My asthma is fortunately mild and so is my sisters, but for my seven year old nephew he spends most of his time in St Thomas Hospital in London because his asthma is so severe. Contact with a smoker could cause his lungs a considerable amount of damage. :(

The irony is, it is the same pompous and arrogant twits that are complaining about people smoking, "huddled around doorways" that have caused the problem in the first place.

In most places, before the smoking ban, there used to be smoking areas: in work there would be a designated place, in restaurants there would be designated areas, in train stations there were smoking rooms and so on and so forth. It is the very ban that much of you seem to want extended to an outright ban that has caused the issue in the first place.

The old addage, "be careful what you wish for", comes to mind.

As ever common sense was left wanting when the ban was made law.

Thousands of people a year develop mild Asthma through air pollution in built up areas from car fumes.

When do we start hating all drivers?

smoke does stink, when driving i can even smell it from the car infront, then watch them flick the cig out the window and bounce over my car :/

its a horrible smell, if someone im with starts to smoke i just leave them to it and walk away so i dont stink of it.

That isn't the case at all. People still smoked outside, smoking areas never really isolated the smoke just concentrated it a bit in most cases. Some pubs still smell faintly of smoke when you walk in which is pretty disgraceful.

I don't mind it when i'm walking around town or whatnot, it's completely expected and a couple of seconds isn't going to do me any harm. It's the mentality of people who smoke directly outside doorways/windows/light up right next to you that gets on my nerves.

Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa as long as you keep thinking with your dick and not your head I will always be a better person than you, as a smoker or not.

i would like to prove my point that i may smoke but i have very high personal hygeine standards and do not stink of smoke (i'm not in denial), hardly a case of thinking with my dick.

I might as well bring my biggest pet hate up while this thread is still going.
I collect Medical Records from all areas of the hospital and it really does upset me when I walk into Maternity and several pregnant women will be outside smoking.
Walk around the corner and we have the Cancer Centre where several patients will be outside smoking while hanging on to stands with liquids going into them.
Over the road is Cardiology where the same scene will be set and 100 yards upbank will be a similar sight outside Gastro.
It just goes to prove what an addictive drug it is especially when in 100% of cases all these people will be advised to stop over and over again.
