"I hate smokers" thread

Smokers on the other hand do something they know is bad for them and are absolutely **** sure that they won't get struck down, it's an addiction just like over eating.

HEADRAT

no that's normal behaviour.

there are thousands of fatal or serious car crashes every year (iirc 10 deaths a day in the uk alone) do you feel sure you wont be one of them when you drive?

I couldn't care less about people smoking. If it bothered me that much I'd simply move. Smokers are banned from most places now and you're hardly going to die from a puff of smoke in the street.

Disgusting, fat slobs who pile food down their throats should be shot. What a pathetic waste of a life.

What about all the people who smoke who have kids or live with other non-smokers? I don't think it's a coincidence that around 3 of my cousins whos parents smoke have athsma. Exactly how is it a "Pathetic waste of life"? Just cause they can't run the 100m in 10 seconds or play for United doesn't mean they're a waste of life, I know many people who are overweight that enjoy and bring enjoyment to other peoples life. If that's a waste of a life, then I don't know what is a life.

Ummm have you ever played Left 4 Dead?

:D :p.

Only the fat bit would bother me.

What a mature, sensible and well thought out response.

You say that if smokers bothered you you would move out the way, fair point. Why don't you do the same for overweight people?

You claim that obese people are a waste of a life, yet smokers who probabilistically will ruin their life and die a painful death are some how not ruining their lives?

That's just down to people being **** humans though. People should know to go and smoke away from non-smokers.

Correct you don't. Fat people are an embarassment and a disgrace. Plus they usually pass on their disgusting eating habits to their kids.

And the exact same can be said for smokers.

Please define a "Life" for me, I'm interested in what you call a "life".

Where i work the smokers are allowed outside for at least 5 minutes an hour for a cigarette. I don't smoke.

So on this basis 5 minutes in an 8 hour shift = 40 minutes a day. Which is 200 minutes a week. Which is 800 minutes a month. On this basis as a non smoker i have to work 13 hours a month MORE than a smoker. 140ish hours a year MORE than a smoker.

I've been with the company since 1998 which means in, say 13 years , i worked more than 1800 hours more than a smoker. 230ish days.

I've got human rights and I'm sure with the right lawyer i could claim and win 8 months off ,fully paid. Right where's my phone ..... :D

This is a bobbins argument you don't know if those smokers are working harder than other people over the course of fifty five minutes. You can't quantify value by the amount of time somebody spends sat in an office.

I have a team of 5 people, 3 of them smoke and all of them do more work than the other 2 non smokers. I'm happy.

This is pretty much the same as I see in my Office :o

edit: Oh, and I never really go out of the office unless I need to go to the shop to get some food or to have a smoke... and I never really take a break, I work as I eat.

By making a passing comment about fat people I'm somehow not getting the most out of my life? Righttttt..

Considering your "passing comment" has since expanded into some pretty severe vitriol (not that "they should be shot" isn't bad enough), I'd wager that yes, indeed, you're not the most fulfilled person to harbour such hatred of the lives of others that has absolutely zero to do with you.

Seems you think that every fat person you see is a lazy layabout destined for Jerry Springer "Aaaah don't wannaaaa diiieeee, Jerryyyy" vulgarity. That's proof enough of your ignorance.

I know a good few fat people, some that may class as on the cusp of morbidly obese. None of them need any help in their daily lives whatsoever, managing just fine. Do I worry about them when I hear them breathing like someone who's just run a marathon when all they're doing is sitting having a conversation?

Yes, yes I do.

And I worry about them in those situations because the sole fact that they exist and bring some much-appreciated friendship to my life makes them valuable. They don't smell, they don't drag me down, and they don't prompt me to get on my high horse because I have enough issues of my own that they're happy enough to ignore. They bring far more to my life than any ignorant **** spouting nonsense, and for that I thank them - fat or not.

There's no need for personal attacks sweet heart. ;)

I'll add hypocrisy to my opinion of you, then, considering you just personally attacked every overweight person on the face of this planet as a quite literal waste of existence. Quite a few members of this forum, too, I'd wager.

Sweet heart.

That's a daft thing to say ... how can you work harder when your missing for 40 minutes a day? Then again i don't work in a office , i have a proper job ;)

Very easy.
I worked on and next to assembly lines for 33 years and I've seen people finish their counts for 2pm where others haven't finished at 4:30pm clocking off time.
Two of the women I work with go out 3 times a day for 5 minutes but because of their 'guilt' they work harder than others in their vicinity and never have a proper dinnertime.
We have another woman in our building who thinks nothing of going out twice an hour for about 10 minutes each time and I honestly don't know how she's never been told off about it.

A personal attack is something aimed directly at an individual, not a generalisation. It's really not hard to grasp.

You say "All fat people are disgusting and don't deserve their lives."

Thus, any fat person reading that has just been told, by you, that they are disgusting and don't deserve their lives.

Seems pretty personal to me. It's not hard to grasp.

I do miss the days when I was smoking and drinking inside the clubs, now I havn't had a drink in over 6 months and smoked over 4 months, oh those were some crazy times
