Oh! That gets me as well, smokers take note, smoking out of a window or at a door does not help the smell at all. You still stink the place out and everyone who doesn't smoke can tell what you have been doing...
 
i don't mind the smell. actually sometimes i will stand next to people when they are smoking. I'm an ex smoker as well.

there are worse things to moan about.

there are worse things in life. ignorant "blind" drivers for one.

Yes but this thread is to whine about smokers I haven't made the fat thread yet. For the record I'm 6ft5 and weigh 13 stone.

A friend who moved from England to Texas had be over to stay for a few weeks 4 years ago.
His house in the UK was rank as his parents both smoked indoors ALL the time.

At his new house they smoked outside - As in properly outside with the doors closed. It really made a difference as the house smelt like a non-smokers house.
 
Yeah my friend smokes outside too and his house smells really fresh. My mum will smoke indoors in the kitchen right next to the door (shut) and it stinks the entire house out.

Yep, close the door behind you and its fine, stand on the doorstep with the door open and its not.

This - had to tell some random consultant at a hot desk at work to sit on the next desk down because he stank.

If people want to go smoke outside, near a cigarette bin or smoking area or whatever then actually chew some gum or a mint or something you you don't stink when you talk to people then that's cool with me - tis their. personal choice and doesn't have to affect anyone else.

Dropping fag butts on the floor, smoking while your walking along on the pavement so anyone walking behind you gets it in their face and generally not realising how much you actually stink after you've smoked and decide to go and sit near to someone else is not cool

Hate? No.
Pity? Yes.

They are still slowly killing themselves and paying for the privilege, however in this case they are not inflicting any negative secondary effects on other people (breathing in harmful smoke != breathing in pungent curry fumes).
 
You shouldn't hate them, you should pity them.
A drug so addictive that even though they know what it's doing to them and more than likely know several people who have had agonising deaths through smoking, still go on and do it because they are incapable of fighting it.
Whenever I see somebody light up I just think 'What a shame'.

I know what you mean and I do pity them :).

However I have made better attempts to be a 100m sprinter than many people have to stop smoking. Most just come up with the most pathetic excuses.

Yes and rapists and murderers are worse too - the fact that there are worse things than smoking doesn't negate the fact that some smokers cause problems.
 
Is there any reason for the next generation of kids to start smoking? It isn't even cool anymore so why do people start?

My sister started at 19! 19! And she only done it cause she thought it was cool! WTF?
 
My friend has tried to quit four times in the last year. He can go for weeks without a cig but you know his reason to start again? Because his girlfriend smokes and he doesn't think it's fair she gets to smoke (buy cigs) and he doesn't :/
 
mglover you seem to have an axe to grind about smokers. Were your parents brutally murdered by a smoker or something? There's having a moan and there's sounding like a bitter little bitch.

2 of my housemates smoke outside but the stink on their person finds its way into the house and makes it all pretty bad. Not to mention the direct smoke in through my window 20 times a day
