They wouldnt do it if they didnt think they'd profit from it.
I not sure you understand how a business works fella.
No one is forcing you to upgrade. If you dont want to pay for numerous Windows 10 installations. Stay with your current license on Win7/8.
Never in my life time have I ever had to pay for an OS from Microsoft

Ubuntu is just as easy as Windows to use for a normal user doing normal stuff.
Once configured and setup, maybe. But I'm sorry until they move away from so, so many things needed to be done in terminal, its just not going to happen.
I agree. £180 for a retail 10 Pro licence is very steep.
I agree. It is steep. But don't forget that this is the last major version of Windows. So thats the last time your'll need to buy that.
Until they release a new product that's not called windows anymore in 10+ years
