i just got dead space 2 but i'm so disappointed

Hi Gareth,

I would try autohotkey as in theory it shouldnt matter what software is running AHK will work. It simple tells the computer if mouse button 1 is pressed then tell computer "W" is pressed. It also has an easy to use recorder so you can press the mouse button and it should tell you what mouse button it is.

Also what mouse do you currently use?
i've tried it and other remapping programs. i can only use left, middle, right buttons in them, the 2 side buttons work but ican't press them...

my mouse is a toshiba pa3706e-1et1

I kept on seeing this thread come up and thinking jeez dead space 2 but be a really bad game! lol

Came in to have a look and seriously impressed, truely inspirational Gareth :)

Glad the control issue is getting some publicity and hope it gets sorted for you and other disabled gamers. It's always been a minor annoyance for me when I couldn't change the buttons but I never stopped to consider the implications for others.

It's good to see the OcUk crew rallying behind one of our members as well.

Petition signed and good luck :)

Hey Gareth,

As Graham Smith said, PC Gamer have asked me to do a piece on this for the website, and perhaps to integrate it into a piece on disability I'm writing for the magazine this week. What's the best way of getting in touch with you?

Sounds promising. :)

Gareth,

Have you said much to your friends/family about this? What do they think? As thrilled as you are? :)

Yup as sparc linked just seen the article has gone live: http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/02/07/d...ion-to-enable-button-mapping-in-dead-space-2/

Overclockers get some free advertising, normally id ask for a finders fee :D

Hope Visceral pick this up, they recently sent a signed copy of the game and a piece of art to a gamer after her dog knocked over her xbox and broke the CD and she cried about it on Twitter. See here http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/d...s/a-2011020311280116019/g-2009120710819530061

Asking to patch a game is abit more of an ask but would be more worthy

is it easy for devs to impliment this into games??

They can craft very high-quality artificial intelligence that can keep even the best gamers on their toes at times, so... ;)

Really glad to see this is getting on to more sites still. PC Gamer is a big one! I'm currently formulating an email to a couple of the big guns in the development industry at the moment to see if we can them to put their weight behind this whole thing. :)
