i just got dead space 2 but i'm so disappointed

Why was the thread removed from being a sticky?

People were not been able to find it. An active busy thread is easier to find than a stickied thread. When and if this thread calms down I shall re-sticky it.

Don't worry chaps we shall make sure this thread stays right at the top of these forums. :)

Why was the thread removed from being a sticky?

They are always more of a pain to find and see personally - I generally never look at the stickies as I expect them to be dead threads/rules & regs.

Came in here earlier looking for this thread but couldn't see it, even went a few pages back - then realised it was stickied.

Signed.

I have only just seen this thread as I thought it was going to be a thread moaning about the game and as I have yet to buy it, I didn't want any spoilers :D.

Good luck!

I have signed the petition as well :)

As I've said before, you are an inspiration to us all Gareth, and I hope that one day it becomes law that games are made more accessible via completely remappable controls. I am appalled that it isn't already.

i received this
Hi Gareth,

PC Gamer have asked me to contact you WRT the Dead Space 2 petition, as I'm going to be writing a magazine piece on accessible gaming for them this week, and possibly a further piece online on the Dead Space story. Would you be available for an interview, and a few photos of your set-up? I'll come to you for that, obviously.

Best regards,
Dan

already replyed saying yes

Followed this thread from the start and finally got around to signing.

I *think* for PC this is a no-brainer. Assuming they are using Direct-Input or similar libraries it's a minor code change.

All we need is an EA response.......

That's awesome.

I've never taken consideration into accessible gaming before but I have been frustrated with the inability to re-map controls even as an able bodied person.

It's an easy thing to omit, but disappointing from developers and publishers who have been doing this for a very long time. This is good exposure for gamers with accessibility needs and I hope it helps developers and publishers set a higher standard. I just hope you don't mind being the face of it!

i don't mind at all...

i'm enjoying it tbh lol

To be honest I was just away to contact you to see if you were happy with all the attention you were getting, since the forum set a new record for the number of people online at one time this morning with all the guests viewing this thread. But if you're happy, I'm happy.

You have a great attitude towards all this and everything else it seems, as i said before, and many others have.. incredibly inspirational!

Amazing how far this has gone!

Hi there

We emailed a lot of press sites regarding this issue Gareth is having because if enough post this the chances of EA implementing a fix for Gareth becomes more likely, so we have our marketing department also trying to get this up on other big sites as well.

We've also been in contact with EA and shown them this thread and they are looking into it, so fingers crossed for Gareth. :)

That is excellent to hear. :)

Is this an official OcUK thing or just something that certain folks high up are supporting? Either way, absolutely fantastic. :)

:D:D:D
Then you won't mind me telling everyone that you have almost 40,000 views on this video ...

Also closing in on 23,000 petition entries.
