I dont think he minds at all, because everyone that has posted has expressed heartfelt support. He also has a huge happy go lucky attitude.

God bless him.

Hehe good for you man, Internet celebrity status.

Cannot agree more with your petition and hope they change it properly so anything can be rebound properly. It cant be such a big deal to sort it out surely. !?!!

I'm lucky to be able to use both my hands but you are still better than me at Driving games.

Read this thread when it first started, then just spotted a report from PCGAMER, Im so glad its exploded like this....Well done Gareth

Wow, can't believe the thread has gone this far since I read the first post or so last week! I signed and hopefully something comes out of this!

It's partially because quite a few games released now are just recoded from the basic console platform and the flexibilty isn't there to take advantage of anything as ground breaking as a mouse.

Whoa. If that really is Dino Ignacio, then that is pretty sweet indeed!

Its very rare in my life where I see something that really makes me stop and think.

Something i take for granted everyday. being able to use my limbs. I think would kill me to loose.

But to see you doing so well is truly awe inspiring.

What you have managed to achieve is amazing.

You have my utmost respect. And I really am humbled by you. I wish you the best of luck sir. and game on !

Gareth,

Just came across this thread and just had to say a hearty "well done". Software developers tend to ignore these sorts of issues - either because they just forgot, or because they made assumptions, or because of ignorance.

Perhaps I'm being overly optimistic, but I hope this will also give other developers (games or otherwise) pause for thought. We can only hope.

I'm a visually impaired software developer, with plenty of experience with people who have similar issues to yourself. I've come across a good share of accessibility issues, and openly admit that even I'm not as good at accessibility as I should be.

This is about education, not blame, and I hope EA get the education they need.

Good luck. :)

PS - Thanks go to the community, and to OcUK, too. It's unlikely this would have 'exploded' the way it has without you. :)

It's great that you guys up on Olympus are getting involved, but you should clarify in your Facebook post that the petition was started by Chuck Bittner (AskACapper) and has been stimulated by Gareth's recent popularity. The way it's been worded makes it sound like Gareth and the fantastic supporters from OcUK have done this themselves, which doesn't pay homage to the effort Chuck has invested in the matter beforehand.

Of course, I don't mean to detract from Gareth's success or from the contribution of OcUK in the movement - it's an incredible story that a couple of my older gaming buddies have just accused me of lifting from Gamer articles and claiming links I don't have :). To Gareth, to the pro-active board members who have taken the issue to heart, and of course to Chuck Bittner and whoever may have helped him before this went a little bit viral - abso-****ing-lutely fantastic work. Warms the heart.
