i just got dead space 2 but i'm so disappointed

i'm trying to set it up to work with webcam. the site says it'll work with any webcam,..

Well kind of.
You have to remove the infra red filter from the camera then add piece of say floppy drive film to it to block all light apart from infra red.

Thats why I said about the wii mote its works straight out of the box so to speak.

Though you need a blue tooth dongle (compatible one at that).

And the best thing about the wii mote is it works at I think 100fps and uses near to nothing CPU wise unlike a web cam.

So yes a web cam will work as I have used one BUT you need to remove the infra red filter from it then block all light using some thing that only allows infra red to pass eg floppy drive film, developed photo roll etc etc.

If you have a web cam let me know what make and model I will look at how if possible though many can the infra red filter is removed.

As I was writing this you uploaded the video of you racing wow is all I can say your very good at that better than me.

Umm not in the list of compatible ones not to say it dont work though.

All so do you really want to take that apart looks expensive.

im trying to find the old web cam I had that I all ready modded if I find it you can have it as I use a Wii mote now.
And what about the LED arrays can you get that sorted?.

I know there is a commercial head tracking gadget its called track IR may save you messing around though it is a lot of money.

Ok did a little more digging and on the site of the best game ever ;) I spotted this

its a face tracking app that uses i think an std camera :)

Gareth170, I am in awe at how you have managed to overcome your disability and enjoy your love of games. That's some serious skill right there fella, very impressive how you can control the game so fluidly just using your chin/head movements. I have trouble at the best of times using my hands!

Totally agree with game developers needing to get their fingers out and allow 100% fully customizable controls, not just for disabled gamers but for those of us that find certain configurations awkward. I mean just how hard is it for developers to incorporate this into their games? It makes the world of difference to a gamer like yourself.

As some of the other posters have mentioned, a TrackIR system for head movements, coupled with a joystick and button interface for your feet might help you along in your quest for more user friendly control schemes. Heck, if I lived anywhere near you I'd have a go at knocking something together myself.

Thanks for sharing the video with us, looking forward to seeing you in action on Dirt 2. Be sure also to keep us updated how things go sorting out your control set :)

i don't wanna take the cam apart really

how much are the Wii mote? if it's £100~ i'll save to get one....

i guess i'll only need that?

Did you look at the track noIR? linked in me last post? though saying that it may be no good for you? as it would track your head movements and you use your head for control so in light of that free track would be better maybe as you could attach an LED array on your feet.

If you do go the wii mote route make sure the blue tooth dongle you get works with the wii mote as the first one I got did not :(.

Ok admit it, who else has just had their chin on their mouse...

Yeah I did and nearly ended up formatting my pc....:P nah kidding I didt really dont see the point I could never do what Op does tbh its amazing.

EDIT
