I think i just lost my licence

I was very close to being prosectuted for driving without due care and attention a while back, I was offered the driver improvement course as an alternative which was £150. I actually really enjoyed doing it, was very helpful.

Not trying to be clever here but I've lost 2 police cars before in a 998cc Micra, it's not difficult.

Wow, that has to be the funniest post I've ever seen....

If you truely believe this, then I feel sorry for you. You didn't 'lose' them, they weren't chasing you at all...

It's also worth remembering that Police cars are never entirely on their own ;)

Damn, sorry to hear that Ian. Everyone makes mistakes like this, but it's unfortunate that the police car was there, otherwise you probably would have learnt your lesson. I hope that they offer you the driver training course instead of the points, etc.

Is it just me or is Reading/Berkshire crawling with police?

I have just dont the most stupid, crazy and allthogether idiotic thing i have ever done.

I tried to do an overtaking manouver on a bit of road i though was safe. However, i misjudged and had to swerve back in to avoid an accident. The car coming the other way was a Police Traffic car.

I have been caught on video, and charged with Driving without due care and attention, and was apparently lucky not to be arrested.

I am so scared, i could have killed someone, and i dont think i will ever forget the way this has effected me. Im a **** of the highest order and fully expect to lose my licence. I Already have three points for a speeding offence. Im so dissapointed with myself right now. Driving without due care and attention is something i never thought i would ever be stupid enough to do. I, untill tonight, considered myself a good and safe driver.

Please be carefull on the roads, i will never forget the Police officers words. "You could have killed me" I deserve the full punishment of the law, and expect to have to pay heavily.

I expect no sympathy, quite the opposite.

Hey at least youve realised your mistake and are taking it like a mature adult.

unlucky mate but at least you didnt get hurt

agreed.
a long time ago, after being chased by 2 traffic cars and being subsequently caught (they eventually put up a road block with 4 traffic cars) i was "educated" by a traffic officer.sitting in the car with him (and bricking it incidentally) he looks at me and says "doesn't matter how fast your car is son, we've always got something faster".....picks up the phone and gestures it towards me.
point taken.

it's not how they punish you that's relevant mate.
any bans, fines or points will disappear eventually.
however the attitude you take from this point on is something that will stay with you for the rest of your motoring life.
it sounds to me like the possible consequences of your actions have been bouncing around the inside of your skull ever since and have quite rightly scared the living **** out of you.
ok you're going to receive some form of punishment but look at it this way...you've learned to look at things a slightly different way now and as far as i'm concerned any lesson you can learn that doesn't involve anyone or anything being damaged or hurt is a major plus point.
don't cut yourself up, we all make mistakes (even me, that should attract a few flames my way to at least attempt to cheer you up ;) ), the difference is 99 times out of 100 we aren't caught and there's no accident/near miss.

hope things go as leniently as possible for you as from reading many of your previous posts you come accross as a decent bloke.

fingers crossed.

I really can't stand the idiots who think it's funny to speed up. Hence I always ram it in 3rd and floor it. :(

I crashed my first car because of some **** who thought it'd be funny to speed up when I went to overtake.

Nor him or the oncoming car stopped when I lost the back end and stacked it into a hedge

With the 220, they don't have a chance. Even if I drop to 3rd instead of 2nd, I'm past slower moving traffic in no time.

/Closes eyes and dreams of turbo powered overtakes :D

lol :D ah dear. ANYWAY...

These days they seem to put you on a driving course rather than take your license, if you're lucky you will get that instead and a bit of a fine.

Yep nasty, I bet there are plenty of accidents caused by these brainless idiots.

Obviously if it's a bm'er 330 me dropping to third will make no difference, but if it's some chav in a 1.0l Corsa then it will.

they were probably thinking; what a ******, serves u right kinda thing...

Exactly what I thought.

The guy who I was overtaking came back later in a different car.

Him and a load of his mates slowed down and got a good look at my car, smashed up at the side of the road

I hate the people who overtake you then slow down. I had some gimp in a sport focus think it cool to undertake me then slow down to 70 on the fast lane on the M1. I am not bothered I just changed lanes but the undertaking was dangerous given the road conditions.

We all have mad moments, its all down to if you get caught like you have. Makes you think twice next time. Fingers crossed it is not a ban because regardless of fault what does this teach you? I drive around like an old woman most the time, then there are other days when I drive like a loon over taking eveything doing over 60 on a NSL expecially on county roads when you can have some fun, but never exceed the limit in a 30 or 40 as its residential/town in most cases.

Good luke dude.

Happy to oblige :D

Unlucky though mate, good to see someone taking responsibility for their driving mistakes.
