I5 2500k - Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P Overclocking

Vcore is adjusted permanantly :) it's always at 1.36-1.38 only it does rise to 1.40v with LLC enabled, it never drops to 1.045v and never will as I don't use offset mode :)... So again you are wrong :(, I know you are trying to help and for that i'm thankful however a lot of the points you've put across to what i've done has been very inaccurate.

Anyway let's leave it at that, i'm tired and more likely to get grumpy :p

Sure lets leave at that.

What I am confused about is that you said earlier that you want to have cpu power down or step down. If when it does step down but your Vcore doesn't than whats the point to have cpu step down EIST and C1E on?

Hence the reason it was on AUTO so the system figures it out on it's own, because I read your posts I put it to ON that was my dumbass moment. However not that it will have any affect as it can't drop the volts because I have full control over it :D. Will sort it out when i wake up

Only the cpu speed drops, that's what I meant by power

Well thats what I am confused about really. Because people want to have CPU power down so that the voltage will follow suit so that they can safe power consumption but when your CPU powers down but your voltage doesn't then I don't see the benefit of cpu power down at all?

Then use offset voltage and not LLC then

That's all im going to say now as it's taking it way off topic when the overclock works. This cold boot issue can affect anyone, DEFAULT or OVERCLOCKED, I don't have freezes or boot loops when I reset. I can play for hours and hours, I'm also prime stable 24hr and EXTREME mode of Intel Burn Test.

Read the forums it's an issue they've yet to find :), Goodnight!

My cpu drops to around 1v when idle. Unless im on about something else....?

I had more cold boots at stock than overclocked. That surely cannot be right and must be the board?

I *think* I have a stable 4.5ghz overclock, although I think I could probably knock some of the voltage off after a bit more testing. I also have the UD3P motherboard, i5 2500k and 16gb memory.

coretemp says voltage is 1.3861 maximum , maximum temperature on a maximum test on intel burn says 69degrees and intel burn says 65Gflops.

does that sound about right?

you should be seeing around 100gflops+ at 4.5ghz,could be ram setting? idk or ram speed?

I get a max temp of around 77.c @ 4.6ghz with 1.35v and get 119.6754 Gflops on Burn test...

im at 1.15v(z68 v pro) with 4gb from mb in sig,i think henryg40 might need more qpi/vtt with 16gb,seems low gflop score for that clock,i dont know if memory affects the score or not

Just to see if my original clock was wrong somehow, I copied the settings from this thread and still only achieving 64gflops, anyone got any ideas?

i think you need to test on high or maximum so it stresses more of your ram, your only stressing 1024mb of ram on standard, this is probably why, keep eye on core temps though,no higher than 72 imo, maybe 75 if it spikes but stop test if it goes higher

apart from that one screenshot, I have been testing on maximum I still get the same results, temperature doesnt rise above 70degrees

what qpi/vt voltage you using? might need more, try with around 1.15v qpi/vtt and see if gflops improve if not put back to what you had previously

you can safely use upto 1.2v qpi/vtt with sb

That was with 1.2V :(

I don't mean to take over this thread with my issues, should I start a new one for more exposure
