I5 2500k - Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P Overclocking

Had two cold boots this afternoon after going away to friends over night :(

However

Neil, I noticed you have pll overvoltage enabled. Turn that off too. I havent had any issues with my z68 xp since i disabled the pll overvoltage and set my mem controller voltage to 1.2v. its has to bee about 3 or 4 weeks now.

Going to see if Disabling PLL over voltage helps

If I disable PLL I get a Blue screen on startup ?

Are you using Offset mode?

All I know is that the pll Overvoltage is supposed to help get that extra bit of GHZ out of a chip, for example 4.5Ghz might be ok without pll overvoltage but 4.6 you'll need it.

No blue screen on start up here, I'm probably not at the limit of my chip yet :D

I'm having the exact same issue guys.

My setup:

Intel i5 2500k
8GB Crucial Ballistix Tactile Tracer (2 x 4GB)
GTX 560Ti 2048MB
XFX PRO750W

My system generally works with one stick of Ram in but as soon as I put the second ram stick in, the computer just reboots its self when getting to the "Loading operating system" part of the boot.

I'll attempt to see now if my PLL overvoltage is on or not and also to check my DRAM voltages to see if that helps. Im not holding out much hope for this board! Seems to be quite a few issues with it :(

did you set to xmp? with more ram and faster speed you will need more qpi/vtt voltage or if asus board more vccio voltage around the 1.1-1.15v mark and dram voltage can be between 1.5-1.6v

Right well just tested... added the second stick of Ram. It is already in Profile1 XMP. I disabled PLL overvoltage, changed the VTT to 1.2v and the DRAM was already at 1.6. Still rebooting as soon as it gets to "Loading operating system". Im running F5 by the way.

Just updating to 7C to see if that helps anything.

I'm running 4 sticks with 1.6v. Have you tried everything at stock but set the ram voltage to 1.6v ? F7C was awful for me I have found F6 to be the best so far but I have had one board go bang so I'm holding back on too much fiddling at the moment.

remove mb battery for 30mins and start over, then put battery in,load optimized defaults in bios and set your bios settings then at gigabyte splash screen press and hold alt and f12 to flash back up bios chip with main bios chip version so that both bios's have same bios version then try booting with two sticks
