I5 2500k - Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P Overclocking

can one of you guys push your board to its limit and see if this BIOS has fixed everything? I'm happy at 4ghz on F6 (I think) but I fancy going for higher if possible but I'd rather not hit instability and I'm not a testing freak!

I'm at 4.6GHZ for now completely stable, 4.7GHZ is also stable however i've dropped to 4.6 for lower volts and temps. No noticable difference in games ;)

Could be i'm using the new board with Bios F6 and I have had no issues at all even using the same settings as the previous board which blew up. I'm almost thinking there was a problem with the board as I was plagued with problems...

Hi just wanted to post and say thanks for this thread.

Built my first rig just over a month ago and decided to OC it. This is all new to me so I just copied the settings on the first page for the 4.5 overclock on my 2500k.

While running prime I noticed the voltage went up to 1.404 so I dropped the LLC to Level 5 and now it only gets up to 1.368.

I ran prime for 3 hours and the mex temp I hit was 71C on one core for a second about 5 minutes in. Apart from that all cores stayed between 65-69C. I then ran ibt on max for 5 loops and the max temp I got was 79C but mostly stayed between 74-77C.

Its now idling away at 34-37C.

I've been gaming on it all day today and its not gone above 60C.

Does this all sound ok?

Damn looks like I spoke too soon...

Left my computer for 10 mins to get some tea and come back to it with an error message saying windows has shut down and restarted due to a blue screen.

Nice !! What volt set up are you using for that?

Btw all my cold boot issues are cured since bios update

1.4V v-core and msll level 6. Pretty much everything except the memory is at auto or default. Multi at 48x..

Still using F6 and had no issues at all....

I have clocked it back down to 4.5ghz now as tbh I see no real difference and I can run lower volts and temps at 4.5...

I'm new to all this overclocking so be patient lol, anyway I've tried all the settings and I can overclock my CPU to 4.7 and I've left prime on for 24hours and had no problems my CPU tempreature only goes up to 55 with intel burn test running and prime and my voltage is at 1.356 under stress.
So if I'm right my CPU can be over clocked higher than this, but when I try 4.8 4.9 or 5.0 it just boot loops and I have to pull the battery and start again. Does the boot loop mean I can't go any higher? Thanks for any input.

Bios version is f7 and I'm running at 1.300 on 4.7 I've tried upping the voltage all the way to 1.350 but I get the same boot loop it's a shame as my CPU only goes upto 55.
