I7 2600k over clocked using asrock fatality m/b

I'm running 1.6 I think 2 is latest. Just tried clear CMOS with button on rear and it's wiped my profiles. . Will update bios and try 4.7 from scratch again

asrock have bought out 2.0 bios which i asume will have some better updates over your 1.6

Odd just booted into windows and loaded f stream and CPU speed is fluctuation between 1600mhz x16.0 to 37000mhz x37

With the core current limit why a big jump as with a 4500 oc was set at100 but with 4700mhz oc. Set to 230

thats because speed step is enabled and c state

i was told it helps with booting up, iv not really understood what it does so i asked on a forum and a coulpe said set it at 140 and a few said 230.

i will google it and try to give you a definative answer

the only odd thing is the bios still says 3862mhz on the main tab page rather than 4700mhz.. strange?? but the applications certain see it as 4700mhz

thats great news buddy, now prime it for 4 hours and if it passes then its time to crack open a beer sit back and breath a sigh of relief

if not up the offest one notch

if you reset your pc and boot in to bios i bet it will have changed have a look!

will do it now... just did a windows expiance index refesh cpu went from 7.6 to 7.8 grr if i could only get 7.9 for perfect score but would need to oc ram also as thats as 7.8

rebooting to try now in bios

no idea tbh it could be a bug with p67 borads?

i think its down to the ram i have not the settings beacuse i get 7.9 at stock speeds

well after 1 min it dropped from 4700 down to 4000 its now at 3900 core voltage 1.304v its about 30 mins in .
maybe this is the reason cant be oc past 4ghz????? dont see why not tho
