i7 3770k batches.

4.5ghz is a nice speed if you can get it. Mine needs a lot of voltage to get there. But in games such as bf3, the performance over my old 3570k (also at 4.5ghz) with sli is great. Previously i was getting upto 92% cpu use and the cards wouldnt budge over 80%. Now getting 65% cpu use and cards maxing at 99%.

That`s what I`m looking for, a better balanced performance in games from Cpu and my sli 560ti`s, better optimisation.
Now I have to play the waiting game, a week or so, is a long time for me.:D

Off topic mate, did you manage to get your Colossus window panel?

No such luck on the window panel mate. Im actully thinking of transferring my system back to my lian li a70f full tower. It's much better for cooling than the shinobi xl. Also, with a cheap mod ive managed to lower gpu temps by about 4c per card. Stuck a fan on the rear exterior of the case set to extract air from between them.

Since getting the Antec P280 last year, I no longer have heat issues with my cards, regardless of what game, duration or hot weather.

Have you tried contacting Bitfenix directly or drop xbournex a trust message?

Good shout on contacting xbournex, ill give that a try. Even if i do swap cases i can still use the shinobi for my other pc. Crysis 3 pushes mine the hardest. I used to be able to run the top card at +130 core, +770 memory and stay below 70c. In this weather overclocking them is a no no due to temps. That and the second card is a poor clocker, only manages + 80 core, +500 memory. Ive ran both at the lower oc speed for a few benches on max fan setting though.

That is where I come unstuck. Getting the balance between core clock, memory and volts. I use MSI AB, but I don`t seem to have much of a choice when it comes to voltages, they seem to be pre- determined.

Ahh, ive owned the supermega model, previous to my current mount doom. Albeit ive swapped out the fans on the k2 for x2 120mm akasa piranhas.

Missed out on a week 18 costa chip on the big auction site last week, owner had it at 4.4ghz on 1.17v.

week 18 was my previous best before these two. Delid this one is 5ghz 1.25 easy. I wonder what my best is?? Its in my benching setup for ivy and I am loathed to remove and test. I know it boots and enters windows at 5.1 at below stock volts.

Just installed the chip but had to remove I ram stick to get into the bios. Have set to default and will put the other stick back in and then start OCing. Will update later.

Seems I have a problem. Can`t get it to post with both ram sticks in. Have tried each stick in every slot and can boot into windows, but as soon as I add the second stick nothing. The red led for the ram is on constant when I have 2 sticks in. Now the ram was not removed when I took my 2500k chip out, so I am at a lost as to why they are not working as a pair. Any suggestions will be more than welcome.
And no, I don`t have any other DDR3 ram I can use.

Try the 2500K again first with full system reset.

That is going to be impossible, as I have swapped it for the 3770K.
For some reason it wont boot in dual mode, but will with a stick in any slot or both sticks in slots 1&2. It shows as 8GB in the bios, but in CpuZ shows as running in single mode but detects both modules.
I just don`t understand why they wont work with the 3770K, it has me baffled.
