If you disagree with someone's opinions on OCUK/Internet...

I tend not to get involved in the 'serious' arguments because I find my views are generally in the minority, i.e. I'm a guardian-reading liberal  and there are always twenty people to shoot-down the liberals for every one that agrees (or so it seems).

The problem now is that everything can be blamed on being overly PC or not PC enough, the lines between the two are now so blurred that everything is unacceptable to at least one person out there. Political and controversial arguments are now a mine-field which of course leads to the more vocal members getting into blazing philosophical rows, something which I'd rather avoid on a site I use as entertainment and enjoyment.

Eh? I've seen time and time again the obvious racist bigots shot down for espousing their views.

What the devil are you talking about?

Was that at me?

If so I wasn't really talking about the racism subject, just the general tone of GD, it seems to be more right-wing than left (I'm talking Conservative style right-wing not BNP).
I may be spouting **** but that's the general idea I get...

Nope, the other chap.

Aye, I know exactly where you're coming from, but that's more down to the fact that right-wingers are more emotional about the subject and therefore tend to be a little more vocal. Most of the time you'll find the liberals just can't be bothered with half the nonsense. There are plenty of lefties on here, myself included so a certain degree.

Depends what website I'm on..

If it's on here I speak out, it's a discussion board that's what it is for.
If it's on Ventrilo/TeamSpeak I speak out.

If it's on websites where I expect that kind of thing I normally just laugh at it.

How is that racism? felt like I was in Pakistan. Probably did. Some parts of Bristol are the same you can walk through them and forget you are in England.
And taht last link is also not racist. Apart from one or two comments like culling. But they are joke posts not serious.

I think some people are misconstruing the point of my post. I'm not focusing on racism. I'm focusing on what people do when they see something said that they believe is wrong.

I argue as I'm sure you are aware of. Particuly in religion/conspiracy threads. get my fill on here as I don't like arguing in real life.

There are some things said in some of the replies that make it sound like a bad thing. e.g.
...when i get married im moving out of birmingham purely to get away from the pakistani scum and the immigrants

It's a waste of time, you can't have a proper conversation when you can't see the other people's faces. Emotion on the face is an important part of communication.

But funnily enough sling a  out and people get all worked up about it lol.

Im much like the OP...ill give my opinion and leave it at that...sure ill poke fun at someone if they make a stupid ignorant comment but unlike before where i would have an arguement...i just find it easier now to keep quiet and let them waffle on a bit....

Because for me, everytime I see racist remarks, either direct or with attempts to disguise them as something else, then the responses to them, I get deja vu.

People are welcome to their views to be honest. Some will be racist and never give an inkling. Likewise someone non-racist might never give an inkling on their views.
