If you don't have Facebook you don't exist... virtually

your account is being reviewed, come back in two hours

The only thing similar to this that shows up on Google is related to either accounts that have been reported for whatever reason, or accounts that have been recently reactivated.

I find it funny that you think someone from Facebook is personally checking your account, and that to do that they need to suspend your account for 2 hours. All of their information gathering will be done automatically and be going on all the time, with the user's account fully active.

I find it funny that you keep responding in this thread when you say you don't care.

I do believe my account was personally checked, hence why they had to suspend it.

If I ran facebook I sure as hell wouldn't be interested in a single thing any of these conspiracy nutjobs said, posted or messaged. The self-importance which goes along with their hilariously misguided view of why anyone would be in the slightest interested in their nonsense is staggering and hilarious.

What's more staggering is the comments people make about things they don't know about. Facebook is the US government and CIA's best way of viewing and controlling the information shared in cults, lodges and secret societies involved in the occult, witchcraft and demonology. Some of the admins there have seen the most incredible things that they would never otherwise be privy to.

Read what I said earlier re: "caring." The fact I can spare < 5 minutes to reply to a thread on OcUK does not mean I "care," it is just a mild form of entertainment to join this discussion.

It's similar to why I sometimes watch the Jeremy Kyle show, it makes me feel good that I'm not like that. You've also got quite a lot of information on the internet for someone who is so concerned about privacy, Sam.

I wasn't concerned about my privacy in general, I was concerned about it on Facebook specifically. Where that is going and what the company is doing to its users with the information. You can't hide from the world totally unless you sit in a hole in the ground.

I was actually talking about you and Mr Nazi Quote Guy. If I ran facebook I wouldn't care what you did on it; your views, messages, beliefs and plans would be utterly meaningless to me, of no value or interest in any capacity at all on any topic, regarding any person, event or place.

You are just not as important as you seem to think you are. No one cares.

No one.

Well, apart from the facebook staff personally reviewing his specific account.

Definitely not just an odd error that loads of people have had from time to time.

So Facebook is an insidious, information-gathering behemoth, but their systems are incapable of performing any spying unless it flags to you in great big letters "your account is being reviewed"?

Do you comprehend why we think that's insane?

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant :D

I decided on Friday that I would delete my FB account. I only have around 65 "friends" and I realized that I obsessively check FB every time I sit down....and for what? Wow - an instagram pic of somebody at a party. 99% of these people aren't friends....just people I once knew in former jobs, classes, etc.

I posted a message on Friday for people to shoot me an e-mail if they want to keep in touch after I deleted my account. Know how many e-mails I've got? Yes, exactly zero :p My actual friends (and family) I can talk to whenever I like - why do I care so much about this other bunch? I don't.

I could just not post or even check FB anymore, but it's an almost uncontrollable compulsion when I sit down at the computer. Plus, I don't just want to leave all my info/photos sitting there. So it's gone. I feel....liberated :o

Now, before Glaucus erupts, I'm not bashing FB. I like the concept, and perhaps if my social circle was different I might use it a lot for actual useful things. But it's just not for me I guess.

So I'm going to start using Google+ instead.

Not really.

i've hardly erupted, just pointing out users who don't know how to use it, or follow the steretype, its their problem not fb. Fb is designed to be used however you want.
fB does not force you to accept friends or look at candycripush posts etc. theres a huge amount of settings to limit what you see, to what you want.

This, also my insurance company knows more about me than facebook does.
