If you use V-power

You know what they say about assumptions

I filled my beast up for the first time in ages last week. I have a mental block that stops me putting in more than £60 each time. I'm sure all the extra fuel has blunted the performance...

Still out of VPower at all my local stations. Shell always seem to run out first and restock last. If I didn't want their VPower I'd stop using them.

Sorry to gatecrash but do you guys really see/feel an improvement using V-Power?

I imagine if your car was optimised for higher octane fuel then it would run best on it. I don't know if you'd 'feel' a difference if you ran below recommended ratings for your engine.

My car has a custom map that makes use of v-power, so I'd definitely notice a difference on normal stuff.

Going to shell tonight, hopefully they have v-power.

I used to be cynical with my view towards V Power just like you. Then I filled up with 2 tanks recently, and it probably is just placebo, but yes I do feel an improvement. Engine seems to feel a lot smoother with V Power, and the throttle response seems quicker

Notice my use of the word "seems", as there is no evidence or proof this is the case, it could just be the psychological experience of the more expensive, more advertised product making me think this. And is it worth the extra over fuel save? I think that decision should be made on a personal level,

For me I think I will continue to use V Power, it's not going to cost me a great deal more over the year as I barely do any miles.

What car do you drive? It's not worth putting it into a 1.4 polo that's for sure

Nothing too exciting, a CivicType R. I may give it a go for a few tanks and see how I get on.

Cheers

Probably worth it then, just as exciting as my Focus ST!

I'm sure you will feel a smoother running engine, but don't expect +bhp or more mpg'z. I'm buying it on the fact it feels like my engine runs better on the fuel, so hopefully doing less damage (fingers crossed) than the poverty fuel :P

you will do
ran my CTR on a tank of morrisons POV-RON during the shortage and the difference is night and day.

its not mega noticeable but you will see it after a few tanks.

dont expect any gains off it.
