If you work from home what do you do?

Gather lots of different badly written methodologies, compare them to what we asked for, try and figure out if they fit with our timescales and budget, bang head against wall, create timeline which suggests everything will be just fine IF.
Rinse repeat.

I like the idea of working from home but the earning potential isn’t there unfortunately.

If I could get a job paying close to what I get now I’d jump at the chance.

What do you do? I earn the exact same WFH as I do going to the office, but I take out things like commute costs, lunches etc.

I've just realised something so many of you are missing the opertunity to describe your jobs as

"Making artisanal home-made code" now that you're at home.

Pretty much everything I do at work, via Citrix / RDP + Corporate VPN. I am a software engineer, so that works out, and I have a better setup at home (big screen). Issues are poor home bandwidth, and some gremlins from time to time, but it's still doable without much friction.

First time I've been at the office for, oh, about 10 months.

I do what I did in the office, minus the ability to socialise, have small chats, brainstorm effectively, and interact on a personal level.

I don't need to go into the office to do 70% of my work, but the rest of the time I do meet clients, go to industry events, host round tables/workshops. the key element that's missing from working from home is spending time with people. Doing it virtually is ******* tedious.

That said I'm spending 2 days a week on average popping into town (well after 1.5hrs or so of travel time), to see clients, businesses, friends and colleagues, and unsurprisingly, get a lot more done as you can have those nuanced conversations and do those connections that you can't do on a zoom call.

Pretty much do the same as when I turned up in my client's offices.

Putting together construction packages ready for my clients (public & private sectors) to send to their contractors for construction.

Designing Roads, Infrastructure, and construction projects via AutoCAD 2D & 3D as required then putting together the Bill of quants, H&S, CDM & contract documentation.

Rinse and repeat until all of the briefs are complete
