Iiyama GB3461WQSU-B1 - Flat 34" 1440 144HZ 1MS IPS Freesync for <£400

I'm returning mine :( , I understood there would be compromises to get an IPS ultrawide at this price point but for it's picture quality to be substantially lower than my 6 year old, half the price, PLS screen is unacceptable.
I think the only way to recommend this screen is you must have ultrawide and your budget doesn't allow for a more expensive one.

I'll be sticking with my samsung for now I think ;/

Got any photo comparisons?

It might not be as good but it shouldn't be that bad, unless faulty.....

My 29um65 had a bit more punch to it especially in darker areas but on the whole this iiyama is better.

All we can conclude from this thread is that some *think* they have good units and some *think* they don't. I wonder if we lined them all up whether they would broadly be the same? I can understand the panel lottery when it comes to dead pixels - they happen - but I can't understand such variation in colour, contrast, etc.

Yup there does seem to be quite a bit of variance in the panels going by reviews and users calibration reports i.e. some say warm is the best colour temp preset, others say normal and others find user mode the best.

After messing around with mine, I have decided to stick to user with RGB all at 100, not as warm/yellow as normal or as cool as "warm" preset :/

The monitor buttons and OSD is definitely my main hate too, thankfully, don't have to use it much :p

As I mentioned above, my calibration device made minimal changes from User 100/100/100 setting so if there is any consistency between panels (and I completely accept there might not be), this would appear to be the "correct" setting.

But yeah, the OSD with its 2 second time-out is awful, especially when you consider that the equivalent Asus (or Acer) panel has a software based control panel. You just have to pay another £200 for that privilege!

You can change the timeout, I have mine set to 30 seconds.

When photographing back light bleed you need to change the exposure to what your eyes can see. The camera always massively exaggerates it by default.

This.

Although having gone through my fair share of UW monitors and the hassle of exchanges, that doesn't look great.

Would you suggest a replacement to see if it's any better? When not photographing it, doesn't seem so bad, but it's worse than my previous screen. There is a concern the replacement could be worse :p

If you aren't happy with it and it bothers you in normal usage with a reasonable brightness then I would get a replacement.

Brightness 50-100....

And there's me still using 13 brightness :p

It could be more the lower contrast ratio and heavier matte finish that is impacting that "pop". When side by side with lg 29um65 (both around 120 nits for brightness), I didn't really notice a massive difference, 29um65 did have ever so slightly more pop especially in darker areas but on the whole this iiyama is better.

Pick a brightness that you find suitable for your room lighting conditions, generally 120 nits which is about 10-15 brightness on the OSD for this iiyama is what is recommended for calibration, will look incredibly dull if you like/are use to having the brightness at 250+ nits but your eyes adjust and get used to it, perhaps to the point where 300+ nits will look overly bright then.

I only had the odd glitching on the bottom and the half the monitor not working issue a few times but I sent it off to Iiyama for a firmware update and just got the monitor back. Picked up and brought back to me by DPD. It took 3 working days in my case, would have preferred not to have to have done it at all but I can't fault Iiyama and the company they use for monitor warranty issues at all.

Touch wood, now it won't do it again!

Has the firmware brought anything new other than just fixing the half screen issue thing?

Anyone getting the new 30xx nvidia series? If so, post to report how it works with this monitor please, should be ok if current nvidia cards have no problems though.....

Read a few posts above, seems like all the issues are now fixed.

Mine seems grand now despite not having the latest firmware, haven't had any issues for a while, weird....

As for people asking for best calibration settings, read a page or 2 back too.

Can't see any real obvious issues on mine, maybe if a pure white screen, there is something, hard to say though, either way, definitely wouldn't be noticeable during normal usage.

Settings wise, the screen is pretty good out of the box already, main one is just the brightness (mine is set to 13 as that is about 100-120 nits) and colour/temperature is set to user colour with RGB left at 100

Overdrive, I've mine set to +1, experiment around though and pick what looks best to you, some prefer +2.

I see this monitor is now listed as freesync premium, could have sworn it was listed as freesync 2 originally.

I have just purchesed this monitor all is good except i can't work out what buttons i need to press to navigate the Menu (i can get the Menu to display but i can not work out how to move to the left so i can go too the different Catergaries like "color - input select - pip/pbp" and so on) any help with this would be great.

You need to hit the input/exit to go back a level where you can then move to other sections.

Sounds like your monitor is faulty or not set up correctly as all the good reviewers rate it as being one of the best IPS monitors for gaming responsiveness.

If you want a more yellow image too (if the monitor OSD settings aren't meeting your requirements) you can always adjust the colour temperature through your GPU driver control panel.

Question for the owners, what's the response time like? I did a quick test with mine were I was dragging a window across the screen and trying to read the text in it. It looked no different than my current 75hz screen (couldn't read the text). Although the movement was noticeably smoother.

Make sure you have windows set to 144HZ and overdrive on +1 or +2.

Compared to my oled, motion clarity is ****, but that's to be expected.

Actually no, the input lag in this monitor is a known flaw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qm4Pg73IIRw&t=205

Sounds like a flaw with the test setup/settings and potentially a problem with CS:GO or something with not using the default res.???

https://www.prad.de/testberichte/te...tiger-gaming-monitor-ueberzeugt/5/#Latenzzeit

Input lag is definitely not 20+ms when I'm gaming at 3440x1440 144hz DP (having compared it to other monitors and tvs running at 120hz etc.)

I guess an early model could have been on that youtube test (my stand doesn't wobble like that one for sure), but I've seen it mentioned in other places.

Do those Dutch links have anything on color settings? :) I'm still not fully satisfied with mine. I got a decent .icm from another website but I can't say I notice any diferences.
My one was one of the first, still have the half screen issue (but extremely rare for me). Sounds like it could just be down to the connection and config. which is causing the high input lag readings.

They do but both are slightly different settings. Personally I don't bother with .icm files as they always get reset or don't apply with some games. 13% brightness, 50% contrast and user colour preset is what I use.

Anyone using a nvidia card with this screen? Preferably an ampere one..... Does free/g sync work ok?

So tempted to get this but its just too wide been umming and arrring for few days but then reading this thread sounds like its another lottery monitor.
Since the latest firmware I don't think many have had any issues, just so happens most of the votes and posts in this thread about faults was to do with the old firmware.
