Iiyama GB3466WQSU-B1 Curve (1500R) 34” 1440 144Hz VA panel FreeSync Premium Pro

Well just got an email from the Iiyama UK that they are in the process of fixing the issue and no stock available until it’s sorted. So all new orders should touch wood be fine?

When I ordered they had them i stock on their website but got an email saying nope sorry it was a mistake. I replied back saying I am happy to wait as long as it’s fixed and they said they know the issue and next batch should have fix pre-applied.

Hey guys, im interested in this monitor to replace my Dell S2716DG, after seeing the issues im a bit concerned. Is it a case of wait until the stock is back at ehe end of August and see if the issues are resolved? Also forgive my lack of knowledge but as I have a 980ti, will i not benefit from G-Suync or Freesync with this monitor?

As per Iiyama UK repair center updates (which are quite handy btw) it took them 1 day to apply the firmware (I expected it would take max 10 days so that's good news!) and the unit is now ready for dispatch.]

EDIT: The monitor has now been despatched with next day DPD delivery. Very pleased with how iiyama handled the situtation. Now it's all in DPD's hands. Literally.

Great - thanks for the heads up. Mine was picked up today, so assuming no delays in delivery I should get it back Friday/Monday.

Is there any flickering when outside of freesync range as fps drops under the range? And is there any flickering in in-game menus, loading screens, dark background websites etc.?

Nope. I've ran the Superposition benchmark on Extreme setting and got less than 48 FPS a couple of times, no flickering. Also, I've just played Control from Remedy for last two hours, lot of low light and low key conditions including menus and no flickering at all. Before the firmware update I could spot the flickering instantly so I'm pretty sure it's now gone.

hi guys, sorry to post again but i was wondering, if i have an Nvidia card will I be unable to benefit from freesync and gsync with this monitor? I was concerned that running 144 without this tech would cause me issues! Appreciate some help before purchase

From what I understand, and assuming you are using a 980Ti. The 980Ti is G-sync compatible but not freesync compatible. To use G-Sync on this monitor you will need an NVIDIA GPU which is both Freesync and G-Sync compatible (or a freesync compatible AMD card), see this list: https://blurbusters.com/gsync/supported-graphics-cards

You will still be able to take advantage of the 144hz refresh rate regardless of what GPU your are using, assuming that your GPU is capable of producing enough frames. G-sync and Freesync eliminates things like input lag, stuttering and screen tearing to give a 'smoother' experience see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fghQh0Y4oA4

Thanks, i currently have a gsync screen but wanted to go ultrawide, annoying that i will also need ot upgrade from the 980ti or face tearing issues! perhaps ill get this monitor with the 980ti then upgrade the card if i notice issues

I really can't fault iiyama in remedying this issue, they have been exceptional throughout. I have just had a notification to say my unit has been shipped with DPD and will arrive tomorrow. A total of 5 working days since e-mailing to having my monitor collected, updated and delivered back to my door. They have kept me in the loop and provided me with e-mail updates throughout the process.

Will report back with an update once my unit has arrived and I've had chance to test it.

Kudos to you iiyama

This is wonderful. Their custom service in this matter has earned them a definitely sale. Looking forward to stock showing up, then I'll order.

Completely agree, my monitor was picked up on Tuesday and is due to be delivered back to me tomorrow.
Have been kept informed during the whole process and is well ahead of the quoted timeframe.
Has exceeded my expectations in terms of support, well done Iiyama.

Mine is being swapped when Iiyama gets new stock.

They have offered to get mine collected and repaired but I have now turned FreeSync off and still get a flicker so I think getting a replacement is likely best!

I have just had a call from Iiyama support advising the monitor will be collected tomorrow to have the firmware upgraded and should be back within 7-10 days.

The flickering comments are a worry. I have a the same GPU that they tested with (GTX 1070) and I specifically want a 34" 1440p UW to use with g-sync. I realise it's not officially g-sync compatible, but if it still flickers in this mode (albeit, less pronounced) even after a firmware update then maybe there's not much they can do. The issue seems to effect all of the monitors from different brands that use the same panel.

Would be good to know if anyone else here suffers from the lower brightness flickering after the update that they're reporting.
