I'm getting fat :(

Im 10 stone and 5'8 i dont excericse and i eat junk food, am i classed as fat?

Judging from figures alone, that's what I am and I don't think that's fat. At least I hope not. Also BMI is not a very good indication for fat measure.

Im 6'2" and 16St. Im over weight but not by much. Im kinda muscular cause i used to be a swimmer thought

Find a sport you enjoy and do that. Especially if its a team or potentialy social one, you'll be highly motivated to go do it and really want to. Some form of cycling is a good place to start for many. To give you some idea, if you could build up to 30 miles per week on the roads or 15/20 mountain biking you would soon shift a lot of excess fat and get a stronger heart and pair of lungs for it.

Play football with some friends or take up frisbe. Kayaking, hiking, swimming, running, rugby, tennis... Theres loads of fun ways of keeping fit.

I was in the same predicament a couple of months ago and decided to do something about it. I was drinking four-five bottles of beer a night and basically eating what I liked.

So for the past five weeks I've cut my drinking drastically. Instead of drinking every night I only drink on Fridays and Saturdays, I eat sensibly in the evening and have a very light breakfast and lunch. I've lost over a stone so far and decreasing.

If you want to lose weight you don't have to exercise, though of course it can help majorly, but you do have to radically change your diet. You have to think about it in terms of a lifestyle change rather than something you'll do 'just for now' and it will become easier. I still have about another stone to lose until I'm where I want to be, but at this rate it won't be hard to do. I used to think I had to drink in the evening in order to have something to look forward to and that it was the best way to relax, now I just find other things to look forward to instead.

5'7" and 14st, kinda stocky build. Cant recall ever being in the 9-11st bracket that BMI says i should be since mid-teens!

As said, cut out the beer during the week, snack on fruits during the day, and eat three healthy meals. All the info needed can be found in countless diet threads in Sports Arena, or just read GordyR's thread to get all the info you need.

I,m 6ft 3 and about 13.5 Stone but have a belly I cant shift..I have not put on any weight for about 3 years but my tummy has got larger (boo hoo) :(

I bought one of Nell McAndrews fitness DVD' (cos it was cheap on Amazon :p) and I have not shifted the tummy but I am defiantly getting fitter ,and am happy I can get through pretty much all of it now ! I am hoping if I stick to it 3 times a week the tummy will eventually go !

I'm 13.5 and I'm only 5 foot 9. All on my beer belly.

I usually eat like once or maybe twice a day, but I drink too much.

I need to sort it tbh.

14st at 6'2" doesn't seem as bad to me.

You might try pilates yoga. I have a friend who has had a problem with his muscles in the belly area (dunno which) since an accident a few years ago. He is only 25 and a rake but for his belly which looks like a beer belly. He does that yoga, and lots of sit-ups, and it's gradually getting smaller.

Losing weight is easy its gaining weight thats hard for me, i keep getting told by ppl that they were my size at that age and when you get older youll get bigger.

I'm 5ft11, and I weigh 11 1/2 stone. I'm not fat, have a *small* layer of fat on my belly, but no where near enough to call me chubby at all - I have a long way to go before that.

I think the only bit of me I'm "happy" with is my upper legs, which I think are OK because I used to ride a lot. But my lower legs and upper arms are too skinny, and my belly like I say has a little bit of fat on it - not firm like it was when I rode 35 miles every weekend!

I need to buy myself that new bike and get back in to some riding!

well, I ate a lot back then - a week I'd have 1/2 tub ben and jerry's, at least one fast food (curry), eat out with gf's dad on sunday, bag of chocolate twice a week with the gf. But I was much fitter then as I did ride a lot with my mate at the weekends, I had a firmer belly and backside :p So yeah, I'd definitely say it's a good form of excercise if I still didn't get fat after eating that stuff regularly.
