I'm sick of emailin 20+ members so here it is......MATCHED BETTING by anksta

I don't understand the quidco thing, I've signed up, i've done a search for betfred, this wasn't there so I went with Coral instead. There is no code.

It says "click here to visit the merchant and earn cashback". Once I click on that it redirects me to the main page of coral where it gives a £10 offer to join up. Click on that it takes you to the registration page where it has a box for promotional codes, with one entered already CORALTD, which I believe is the £10 and not the £25 referal through quidco?????

Where do I get the promotional code from?

Sorry PaulStat, not checked this in a while. The Quidco thing is independant from any code entered in Betfair, it is possible to click through the quidco link and still enter a promo code to get the extra bonus. Not too sure about Coral although I wouldnt advise changing any link provided as that is how they track you so you're probably gonna end up without if you do that.

Despite warning people to be wary of Casino bonus bagging, I've done 2 now, one last night that took about 2 hours and won a tenner (could be worse) and one this afternoon and won 67 quid, get in.

Did Littlewoods last night and Bet365 this afta. Quali-tay

For what stake? It does take a bit of looking to get something close, shouldn't be too far apart while you're still near the 2.00 mark though. Try looking in correct scores etc as well.

£25 @ Betfred and Betfair :)

I'll be starting my career this friday as I stupidly had my deposit limit set to £10 on betfair. If you change it, it takes 7 days to take effect :/

Correct scores. It works the same way as win/draw/lose match yeah?

Yeah.

DO you need to have a good knowledge of a sport to be able to do this?

I still don't really understand this....

So I bet for example Man U to beat Chelsea for example 2 -1
But also lay Man U to lose to Chelsea 2 - 1???

Not particularly, but it does help. I would recommend sticking to match outcome rather than correct score to begin with though.

Quick update on my progress, Started a week ago today, have made £300 + a free football shirt of my choice. :p Some pretty good offers around just now as well, I could be £300-400 up if I waited a bit for better offers.

Woah, nice one.........

How much have you been staking?

Oh yeah, if you have tried betfred, do they ask for ID?

None have asked me for ID so far, however I've been using a card which you need to be over 18 to get. WBX took a couple of days to approve me but didn't ask for any extra ID.

I'm halfway through doing Betfred just now, they've just given themselves a nice £100 free bet sign-up offer (in £50 parts).

The reason I've raked a lot in in the course of a week is due to be doing quite a few bookies at the same time, and you can only do that if you've got a fair bit of capital to get tied up in it for a week, I had £1500 out of my bank account at one point, all back in now though. :p

There's an extremely useful forum for getting your head round it etc, not sure if I'm allowed to post it here though, add me to MSN if you want it. :)

No. think about it this way.

You come to me and say "I bet United beat Chelsea" if I take that bet, say for a tenner, I only have to pay you a tenner if United win. If its a draw or Chelsea win, then you have to pay me a tenner, yeah?

Now Betfair is exactly that, a betting exchange, by LAYING a bet, you are allowing someone to say "I bet you...." whatever and you say ok.

Now all your doin at the bookie is BACKING the same thing, so they always counter.

Someone bets you United win, you bet United win.

If United win, pay the person at betfair, win at the bookie.

If Chelsea win/draw then that person on betfar pays you, lose your bet at bookie.

You always win at one and lose on the other.

Where did you get the football shirt?

ive barely touched this lately - sat at £2400 profit ... may get stuck into some monthlies and matched bets soon though

what shirt did you get?

You had a go at the Casinos yet?

Scotland strip.

Not bothered with casinos, had a go at one before I started matched betting, was on course to getting £1500 at one point (there was a £35000 WR) and lost it all just before I reached the WR. Took far too long and I need to be spending my time revising at the moment. :p

For those who have been doing this a while, what's the next main source of income after signup offers? I get the feeling I'm going to run out of the decent ones soon, and haven't worked out how some people can keep making loads of money afterwards.

Ok, so I don't even bet on scores?

I lay a bet at Betfair saying Chelsea will beat Man U
At bookies I back that Man U will beat Chelsea. Breaking even and eventually unlocking that free money?

Or, am I still misunderstanding?

When you lay you aren't saying that a particular result will happen, you're saying that result will not happen.

So when you back Man U at the bookies, you are saying that Man U will beat Chelsea.

When you lay Man U at Betfair, you're saying Man U will not beat Chelsea, so either a draw or a Chelsea win makes your lay win.

So if Man U win, your back at the bookies pays out, your lay loses, and if it is a draw or Chelsea win, your back at the bookies loses, and your lay pays out.

Ok, so

I bet Man U will beat Chelsea (at the bookies)
I lay that Man U will not beat Chelsea. (at a betting exchange)

Right? And the odds want to be about equal?

Man U win. I get my money from the bookies, lose it at the betting exchange. Roughly evens out, but i've bet £10 so I have now unlocked the 'free' money. Spent £10 but the free thing was £50, making £40 profit.

First bit is right, and you want the odds as equal as possible, often hard to find them like that though.

As for the second paragraph it's not quite as straight cut as that, and to be honest it took me a couple of goes at it before I got the hang of it. You'll probably make a loss of 5-20% (depending what odds you find) on your qualifying bet to get the free bet, so you'd lose up to a couple of quid there.

The second part depends a lot on whether the free bet is SR or SNR (stake returned or stake not returned), how many times you need to wager it before you can withdraw, etc.
