I ended up selling my 2500K and buying a 5GHz capable 2700K for less than I sold the 2500K for... :p

Sandybridge has life in it yet. :p

I'm still rocking a 2500k at stock clocks, nothing wrong with it. I don't game however so I don't know how it'd fare in the latest stuff.

I was surprised when I looked it up to be honest. The difference is a bit greater than I thought it would be. Each gen has been a baby step, but all the baby steps have added up now.

Still running a 2500k @ 4.3GHz. In the latest games like BF1 it does seem to struggle a bit, at least for me anyway.

I'm going to try and see if I can get my 2700K to 5.3GHz later... Now its cold.

5GHz at 1.38v currently.

I also work and run a fair amount of applications and virtual machines in the background, And it was defiantly struggling with cpu usage etc, But don't get me wrong normal day to day I am sure the 2500k is still perfectly fine specially overclocked

My 2500k handles BF1 very well, although I just did a fresh install with SSD. I also won a 980ti off Day9 which helped. Otherwise the machine was built in 2011.
