Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

Not sure I'd risk having one for desktop use though.
I've had 4 replacements, currently on the 5th. 2 were replaced for burn-in and 2 replaced for defects. The burn-in can still happen within just 3 months (see the recent Monitors Unboxed QD-OLED burn in video) but how noticeable it is depends on individual settings like brightness etc. All of the details are talked about in the QD-OLED threads for both the new 32" 4K panels (gen 3) and the previous Gen 1/2 34" ultrawide. I use mine for WFH and productivity so much heavier usage than most but these come with 3 years burn in warranty with next day replacement so it's mostly a non issue.

To anyone with a QD-OLED< even if it's Gen 3 -- Do yourself a favour and run BetterCleartypeTuner, set RGB to 2200 and apply then close the tool. This removes the text fringe issue in Windows.

Also do not install the Dell/Alienware software. None of that rubbish is needed. Follow the recommendations in the mentioned threads and all's well.

Sorry, but I think prime day is just a big conjob. Theres hardly anything “discounted” that I can’t find somewhere else for the same or cheaper

Well....depending on how much and how often you buy stuff, it's worth going back through stuff that's in your return window and seeing what's cheaper. Return, wait for new stuff to turn up, and just slap a return label on it and return it.

Must admit the ethics of that bother me a bit tbh.

I just had a look through my wish list and spotted a few things I'd saved that had an offer on. Bought some brad nails, staples, and a cheapo set of forstner drill bits (prolly garbage but for the odd use maybe ok). So I saved a couple of quid perhaps.

Sounds a bit of a nightmare :(

I honestly don't think they make monitors to the standard they used to.

Hope you've got a good one now.

I'll hang on to my old Samsung qled ultrawide for now.

I have two of them and I use them for WFH, never encountered any issues, just used the out the box software and they work gloriously. For record, both of them have the same windows taskbar glaring away everyday for 8-10 hours constantly, with zero burn in.

You'll only start to see if on certain grey screens at first and likely in around 6 months to a year - It won't be massively obvious but a dark grey screen will show some outline of window position borders, the taskbar etc is never the issue it's always hardline borders as Windows isn't accounting for this stuff and has opposite shade border colours etc.

Gen 1 QD OLED had the issue mostly, Gen 2 slightly less and Gen 3 even less but they're still new.

All currently OLED displays will burn in, it's just how soon based on use cases. Philips have a burn-proof OLED in the labs being tested currently, but they're a couple years away from mass production.

Edit*

Picked up a game for a fiver, Everybody's Gone to Rapture, set in sunny UK

These hover around the 7 to 800 quid mark on amazon. Prime day deal 607.

Then whatever reason I see in my basket that these have dropped to 464 though only in my basket and not on the advert page.

Cue me smashing the button to order.
