Quantum dot isnt oled. Its normal lcd with some extra crystal layer that lets it produce more colour range/HDR

If that is the case I can imagine my 2.4K TV will probably end up sub £1.5K
Does that matter? Presumably you were happy to pay £2,400 and saw that as value?

Just had a cryptic email from Samsung saying they are going to announce a new line of TV tomorrow at CES.. maybe they will get into the OLED game too?

Agreed. We all know that what you bought this year as high end in TV's will be next years medium end and half the cost.
But you will have had a year's enjoyment from it.
If that year isnt worth £1200 then don;t buy the latest high TVs.

Depends, I got an LG FLAD LED TV, and that didn't drop value for a good 2yrs after purchase.
I am chuffed with the TV and didn't credit card it. So not to bothered in that regard

Dell XPS 13 and a 13" MacBook Pro
I'd read that the XPS 13 was apparently a MacBook beater... it isn't (IMHO) and is being returned to Dell having been replaced with an actual MacBook.
I thought I was saving money but really it just wasn't for me, I'm happy enough with windows on a desktop, I do prefer OSX though and there were numerous reasons why I realised the Dell was the wrong decision for me. It is a nice machine but it was also a bit of a compromise.
