Because when you type the serial into warranty checker, you'll discover they don't provide any on the OEMs. The moment you opened that plastic box (which a lot of are now permanently welded, so you can't put it back together) you released them of the biggest overhead they have at the moment - constantly replacing their poorly designed HDDs that some enthusiast cooked to death in poorly ventilated self built PC either locked up in TV cabinet or positioned under the table with exhaust vents tightly pressed against sofa while still under warranty.

Yeah I wouldn't buy my kids (if I had any) that many presents but the poor guy doesn't need jumping on for doing so.

Well my parents bought me that amount of presents when I was younger and I have grown up well adjusted and appreciative of the value of things. So the whole argument is flawed imo.

Throw away all the packaging and that's about a shoe box full of toys. The amount of packaging for kids stuff is disgusting.
Surely you just buy them a sensible amount... ?
