Indian Grand Prix 2013, New Delhi - Race 16/19

Well thats it for another season then. Hopefully things get mixed up a bit more next season, although not really expecting much of a change by the end of the season tbh.

So, today I got to watch a race full of action, excitement, great driving and a surprise winner.

Because I watched a tape of the 1979 Daytona 500.

I did however also see a few laps of some....*thing* in India today, and got so bored that I found myself once again wishing for this interminable season to just end. The only 'excitement' was seeing how many cars Alonso could bonk into in less than 1 lap.

I'll see you next season gang. If I'm allowed in, of course. Glaucus has the say on that!

I forgot about the race today wasn't going to watch it any way. Vettel has to move team imo to prove if he is better than the rest of the grid. He is doing a good job but he has had it so easy for so long now leading from the front all the time and when he's not leadig from the front he has the fastest car on te grid by a big margin to make those positions back, huge advantage over every body else.

He won't move until at least 2016, and even then, he still won't have broken the record of total number of WDCs won, just the number of consecutive titles.

Think the biggest problem we have had this year besides tyres, lolpassbutton, lolFIA and Red Bull being brilliant is that we have had no proper rain to spice things up.

Random downfalls always make an race enjoyable.

Most memorable race for me was Button, Canada 2011. Brilliant race, even after being red flagged for a hour or 2.

Senna won his three titles in arguably the most dominant car ever. Are you saying he's not a great because he didn't win the title in an inferior car? What about Alonso in the Renault? Two titles in the best car at the time then 2nd place finishes... or does this rule only apply to Vettel? :o

Asking someone to win the title in an inferior car is a bit much (although Alonso came mighty close to it last year). Winning plenty of races in an inferior car without anything strange happening (like a sudden downpour or a start like spa 1998) would seal Vettel as an all time great in the eyes of the public though.

to all the ones saying he is not great driver till he wins with inferior car

in fairness to Vettel, he is the one that brought Toro Rosso its only victory.

PS I am not a Vettel fan, far from it in fact. but I respect that he is a great driver that has accomplished a lot

Yeah I think so, he's just for lots of people still an unknown quantity but I think he's now put himself in that Schumacher position where we will never find out because his CV will always let him demand everything in his favour.

I do not think you will ever see him race with the kind of team mates Alonso, Hamilton, Kimi and Button had to at various points, but then he doesn't need to put that pressure on himself.

I think that's why people dislike Vettel, because they see him winning so much and the general perception is when put under lot's of pressure he breaks and the public and drivers past and present are vocal that they think others are better.

Sadly I think that all undermines what the team have done the last 5 years. I still think they should have taken the title in 09 but still 4 years at the absolute top with fantastic consistency and reliability is so rare only Ferrari and Mclaren with Honda have managed it four years on the trot. Neither of those are as young as RB either. That's a fantastic achievement.

I'm bored of the RB livery though, any chance of them running in a silver livery like the RB silver cans ;)

Go and watch Senna at donington 5th to 1st in one lap vimto has done just one good overtake in 2 seasons.

But it is good of newey to admit that is was the changed of tire compound that made the difference not vimto ;)
