Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (2024)

I may be wrong, but it looks like this can be played now on Geforce Now if you're a Game Pass subscriber (or if you own the game on Steam). I don't have a paid sub, so I'm currently number 265 in the queue to play it...

6.5hrs in, just done the underworld sections. Man it's a wild ride, when the enemies march towards you and you rn out of puff, it's a bit of a beatdown :p

Have to say the black levels in this are perfection, there is no crush, no lift, just pure black and yet you can still see in darkness thanks to RTGI's indirect diffuse bounces some light shafts in the distance etc. A game that must be played on OLED for sure for the best experience.

Even in normal scenes like indoors, the colour grade and light/shadow is done convincingly well and how you would expect it to look in real life, which is pretty obvious given it's proper RTGI.

Time for a tea and biscuits then jump right back in.

The game sounds a lot better than I was expecting based on things being said a few days ago. No chance I will be playing it any time soon as busy enjoying STALKER 2, but certainly will play it on game pass at some point next year :)

Vram is high for good reason, there's virtually no loading times anywhere.

Main menu to being in-game is one single transition as the main menu previews the last checkpoint you were at. It's immediate. Regardless, the 4K native VRAM use is 12GB max with the remaining few GB being used by the OS and background apps which can easily reach 16GB total.

This is the norm for many games now, but only this and Dead Space remake have instant loading times.

My 3080fe is not going to like this next week when the 'normal' version comes out is it?
According to Computerbase there's no FSR/XeSS support.

FG's locked to 40 series and it's extremely heavy on the vram to the point that Intels 770 is faster than a 3080.

Is game pass still cheap for the 1st month? Thinking of getting it just so I can play this.

PC Game Pass has a £1 14-day trial again now.

Or you can buy a 12 Month Game Pass Core (India) voucher, redeem via VPN, and then redeem a 1 month Game Pass Ultimate code to get 7 months of Ultimate for ~£25.

Yet people still bought it. Can't blame them.

Because for most people at the time and arguably still.... it made no sense to spend the extra £750 just to get 24gb vram. Only alternative was amd rdna 2 and well they have aged poorly with awful RT and lack of good upscaling.

It's been great so far. CP2077 ran well, I had very few issues with Jedi Survivor. I can't fault it really. Sure, if I was running 4k I might have had more issues but at 1440p UW it's been great.

Even on the aw32, it's still a power house tbf. DLSS perf on 4k looks better than 3440x1440 dlss quality/native and as a result performance is pretty much the same.

Yup I am surprised too tbf, thought it may have flopped especially since some of the early footage did look poor but from what I have seen, it looks great.

Got far too much to keep me busy game wise atm so Jan/Feb when 5080/5090 arrives will be perfect timing for indiana in full path tracing!

- stalker 2
- aliens dark descent
- the alters demo on steam
- the precinct demo on steam
- path of exiles 2
- delta force
- red dead redemption 1
- silent hill 2 (still to start this)
- I also need to finish black myth wukong

Recently finished dead island 2, it was extremely good fun, really surprised me that.

Too many games and simply not enough time :)
