Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (2024)

I'm enjoying it so far, I like the puzzles and creeping around aspects of it. Graphics look fantastic I think, and I'm only running it at 1440p. With path tracing and DLSS quality I'm getting 70fps outside and 110fps inside. To my old eyes, that looks pretty good.

So anybody got the recommended settings for a 4080 to get this to run at 60fps with full PT on?? framegen seems to be a dud so far, maybe needs a patch?
In my post above you can see what I'm getting, only at 1440p though.

Framegen not enabled, too much input lag for my liking. That's very game dependent but in this one, I prefer it disabled. I don't think you're missing much there.

My word this is even harder to run than Stalker 2. Has to be the most demanding game on the market right now with Full path tracing enabled.

I can run it with my trusty 3090 but only with the following set up:

4k
DLSS Performance
Maxed out settings including path tracing.
Cinematic view (for extra frames).

I also reduced FOV to 85 to squeeze a couple of extra frames.

Frames capped to 30.

Lossless scaling x2.

Gives me a nice smooth frame gen'd 60 fps :D

Well considering Stalker 2 is UE5 and uses only software Lumen, it's no surprise that path tracing is more demanding :p

You know nothing Jon Snow

Just played an hour or so
Got upto meeting Antonio
. Native 1440p on High settings (changed none except motion blur) and getting 60FPS consistently so far. Definitely think I would have preferred this as third person, but then I suppose that would have been too close to uncharted. Think this is going to be more about the story than the gameplay, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.

BTW I tried running this game with medium RT but the lighting was all messed up and it looked horrible so it seems bugged. Tried turning off HDR and DLSS but made no difference. It's either full RT or nothing for now, at least that's what I've found.

This is a classic example of where I wonder if people's nostalgia for the franchise clouds certain things.
I have none for the Indiana Jones franchise so I wonder if I played, it would I feel like I'm just playing Uncharted with an Indiana Jones skin on it (noting Uncharted took a lot of inspo and had lots of references to IJ)

I mean look how much talk there is about graphics and tech. Not much about the actual gameplay..
The franchise hasn't had positive reviews since the 80s, not for lack of trying. I doubt it's nostagia. Being compared to what many would consider some of the best games of the last 15 years isn't a bad thing either :p.

Only the first 2 films are what most would consider OG Indiana, and no uncharted is all third person, this is first so completely different mechanics involved unless you like the similarities as climbing some walls which you do 90% of the time in uncharted whereas it's the opposite here.

A mate and I are playing this through together over Discord (we played Alien Isolation like this and it was a riot), so far this game seems to be fitting the bill with it's stealth/slower sections.

Then it goes quiet, then swearing.

"What did you dooooo?"

"I couldn't resist, I hit a fascist with a fly swatter. I'm sorry. Just reloading."

"It's OK mate, you're only human."

Definitely giving the 4090 a work out at 3440x1440. Mostly Ultra settings, Supreme texture settings, FP/PT/DLSS Quality between 65-100fps. Might knock it back a bit, but ooo it's pretty and plays brilliantly.
