Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (2024)

I'm hoping this could be great but the review embargo makes me cautious, and other info raised in this thread. I suspect another "AAA game launches with issues"

So I did a thing and bought the Steam premium edition with a view to play an hour or 2 so check it out early, then refund and play on game pass on the 9th - I can then see how it runs on game Pass vs Steam from a techie pov :D

So will be playing from midnight tonight then!

Lets hope its not as hard as this. Me and my dad only ever got to around 3 mins 40 seconds into - The part timing the 4 ropes was almost impossible!

Nvidia's page is up with new driver for the game:

For even faster frame rates, owners of GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards and laptops can accelerate performance in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle using NVIDIA DLSS 3 with Frame Generation. On average, performance increases by 2X at 4K, with Ray Traced Global Illumination lighting enabled, along with the game’s highest quality Supreme-preset settings.

On the GeForce RTX 4090, this performance multiplier enables you to play at over 200 frames per second, for the definitive launch-day Indiana Jones and the Great Circle PC experience. GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER owners can crack Indy’s whip, solve puzzles and battle bad guys at over 170 frames per second, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER owners at over 150 FPS, and GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER users at over 130 FPS.

Noice.

The page notes that the path tracing "update" enables better visuals but the charts they show are for RT only not PT, so I suspect we can slash off 60-100fps depending on GPU for PT mode, which going by the Supreme RT fps figures aligns nicely, 60-fps PT at 4K native, means 120fps PT using DLSS and maybe slightly higher with FG enabled. We will see this evening after midnight!

all reviews are going to get 7-10 out of 10.
then a day after launch the same places will be moaning it's 6/10 and broken

seems a trend these days

This is reviewing really well. A decent spread of 7/10 to 10/10 reviews. I'm currently watching the gameranx review and he's very positive about it.

"It feels like a very, very light Dishonored, or like a baby-mode Thief mixed with a dash of Hitman and Riddick Escape from Butcher's Bay."

All games I love, so where do I sign? :D
