*** Infestation: Survivor Stories ***

I've just found this thread and this game looks great. I'm interested in getting it but I notice there are a lot of posts here about cheating. How common is it, and is it getting worse?

How is this likely to run on an ancient Q6600, 8Gb, and an ATI Radeon HD 5770 1Gb GDDR5??
(Just checked my OcUK previous orders, and I can't believe my PC is just about 5 years old!)

I'm afraid it is, whereas in DayZ with each patch there was an update of the security code, many got banned but it didn't stop the cheater but they were forced to buy another copy . In WarZ cheating and server hopping is getting much worse and there has been no sign of any bans given out, you can tell this by a thread stating when the cheat was released and when the last person posted ( still working ) is. Another reason for the increase is the special deal that recently appeared whereby you could buy the game at a much cheaper rate, not sure if that's the case still.

It's still a great game, I really enjoy it but the fact you can go into a town with the entire place looted and no survivor anywhere to be seen is very fustrating. It's also fustrating having someone spawn directly behind you because he recently logged off, moved to another server, moved behind you and logged back in.

Its apocalypse is all the more real and horrifying: it is a sparse husk, parched, devoid of ideas. There is no evolution, revolution or clone here. Instead The War Z feels doomed to linger in a shadow of its own making, but more damning still is the sensation that the game is happy to just stay there. A War Z survivor, then, types “friendly” with a lingering sense of deja vu and a growing sense of indifference.

LOL...a review of an alpha build as though it's a final release.

Half of that review is just nonsense, written from someone who obviously didn't play much.

Well we can only hope they will fix most of the hacks they can do. But do be fair every single online PC game has cheaters. One of the prices we pay as PC gamers.
