The main War Z site has ha a bit of an update (was just a sign up form last I checked) with a fair bit of info.

Im highly sceptical about this game, but id love to be proven wrong. I cant see how you have, out of nowhere, that quality graphics over a seamless 400sq k world with all those features. The site promotes 'access to alpha', a closed beta late summer but says the game is released in the autumn, thats from alpha to launch in 4 months tops. The forums are ultra light on details or dev input and are mostly speculation by hopeful players and except for some Announcement PR its been deadly quiet. Im hoping for something solid real soon.
If you took a little bit longer to read the FAQ on their site (linked above) third point:
"How are you guys making this game in only a year ?"
"Well, we're not really developing from scratch. The design and idea for The War Z has been in place for a couple of years - we only just started developing the specific features for the game in the past year. Our team has decades of experience and we are utilizing technology that has been around for several years now and has proven itself in games with over 2 million online players worldwide. We're also relying on a mass of data collected by our friends at Online Warmongers while operating War Inc. Battle Zone."
Well it wouldn't take long to read the FAQ (especially as they missed out filling in anything under the 'skills' question so thats one question skipped) but for the sake of clarity let me rephrase - Im sceptical they can build an engine that has the view range and seamlessness of the Real Virtuality engine but the graphics of UE 4 'in the past year'.
Lol, so am I... but I hope they can make a decent game. I was just being pedantic
Sounds like WoW with zombies? Where does it say anything about having a skill bar and an auto attack combat system? This couldn't be anything further from a WoW game if it tried.
Just to clarify, WarZ was in development before DayZ emerged.
I guess when some people see the term MMO they see WOW
