*** Infestation: Survivor Stories ***

Zombies are just another variable of the environment, not really a threat, only real problem is bandits or just those who take advantage of opportunistic kills.

I've died 3 times in the last 30 minutes to plain bad luck. I've been sneaking, checking out my next move with binocs but the guys are just there before me and waiting. :(
 
The choppers just have the normal loot table as far as I have experienced. I'm having real trouble not dying in this game! I've lost a lot of encounters with players, even though I've shot first, shot them in the head, or shot them a lot! It's starting to annoy me, truth be told. Some examples:


  • Found an M16 and put about 8 bullets into someone over the road. They did not die and ran off.
  • Stumbled across a dude in a shop, shot him in the upper chest at very close range with my shotgun. He didn't die but his shot killed me outright.
  • Took about 7-9 shots from an M4 at close range to kill someone running past me.
  • It took 9 shots at close range from a Beretta m92r to drop someone.
  • I had surrounded a guy in a small house and was peppering shots at him through various windows. He soaked up 5 shotgun hits before I put three in his head with a Sig and he finally died.


Yet I seem to get one-hit-killed all the time. ALL THE TIME!

I wish you could rotate the screen after death to see who shot you as I often die without even seeing my killer.
 
The reason they don't die is a bug with the health system and painkillers!

If you have a lot of painkillers it's pretty much instant reheal

all with ammo, not a bad little collection. Sniper rifle was the funniest, just sitting in the back of a humvee :o It may only have 5 rounds in it but it's the best in the game according to the Wiki so i'm not complaining :p

Nice one James, Still yet to find a sniper yet what zone was that in ? and yet to find a single thing inside hummers lol, I've even stopped looting them as I didnt think they spawned stuff, guess I better play close attention.
Any of you guys team up to play would love to have a game or two with you lot, I play with a group of 6-10 most evenings, From around 8pm -2am ish depends on early I have to get up the next day.


My Global Inventory is full to the brim now of automatic pistols, m4's and shotguns Cant drop anything else in it so don't mind sharing the wealth. :D
Also whats the crack with the AK ammo I have a few clips but cant reload my gun with them :confused:
 
Found the M107 in the farm just outside of the bottom safe zone, on the main road. Follow the road out of the safe zone, turn right and you'll come across it.

Picking Normal or Hardcore players makes no difference as there are no Hardcore servers yet.When they arrive they will have better loot spawns (more rare items)

Make sure you're not trying to reload an AKM with an AK clip, and vice versa, different calibre rounds ;)
 
finally downloaded it and got on but am a bit disappointed to see you can buy valuable things from the cash shop and even without being in the game isn't it missing the whole point of dayz? to scavenge for items since it's vital to survival. It has less meaning if you can just get it in the shop and I don't get the reasoning behind 1 hour spawn timer
 
Maybe to give your char some value, I hate getting mine killed as I know that's it for an hour ill have to play as someone else. This will have more meaning once we have skill trees and quests added in but for now its a "stop everyone steaming in like they are playing bf3"

You can make up to 5 players so you can still play, if your getting 5 characters killed inside an hour maybe its time to switch up your playing style.

I have'nt payed for anything in the shop nor as anyone I know off and from what I can see theres nothing your cant find in the world in the shop. Guess its there for people who dont have the time to loot as much as other and if thats the case they can pay some cash and support the game/devs in return getting a weapon to enjoy the game with.

From what I can see nothing you can buy on there is better than what you can loot.
