Inhuman scum

I can't really do much about it until tomorrow. I'm not leaving my Mum to do it as she'll just accept whatever they tell her, whereas I'm not so easily placated.

You can apparently be granted an exhumation order from the ministry of justice in some circumstances, but that sounds like a lot of paperwork and unneccessary stress as well tbh. The ashes are already exhumed, albeit in a none religious way, so just give them to us and let us lay Dad to rest :/

Terrible,

I guess they thought it would be a good quick buck, but then probably realised no place would take them..

Also I'd like to pass my condolences on to the family of the lady whose ashes have been thrown on the floor. Sadly, the other 2 were a husband and wife who died 2 years either side of my Dad and the vicar has no contact details for their family :(

Wow, thats sickening. Some people have no decency.

Church charging just sounds like a scam to be honest. Can they fall back on owning the urn? Effectively charging to give it back?

There's some right scumbags out there.

And the church now trying to make a penny (on the assumption they need to charge for this, I would not be surprised) just takes the biscuit.

Can you really "exhume" ashes? Surely the definition of exhume is relating to a body and not ashes in an urn. My great grandfathers ashes are in an urn in my house. If I pick the urn up out of the cabinet each time am I exhuming him?! Sounds like nonsense.

Sickening. It'll be five years on the 7th since I lost my dad, and I honestly can't comprehend how awful it must be to have the grave of someone so close to you desecrated like that.

Hopefully you can sort this without too much more hassle and expense.

Yeah you need an exhumation licence whether your are exhuming a body or ashes. If it's a body then it can be quite expensive from what I've just read (unsurprising, really).

However with ashes it appears the licence is free but there re costs incurred from the owner of the burial site (church) and the authority who need tobe present to ensure proper procedures are followed (either church or local authority, depending on various things)

Wow, lost for words. Seriously sorry to hear this. There are some utter scumbags in the world, to do something like this they deserve everything which is coming to them.

Words defy me.

That's the thing, it usually DOESN'T happen to scumbags!

What a disgusting act!

Maybe one day they'll realise what utter scum they are and end their own pathetic existence on this planet.

Sorry to hear about this, absolutely disgusting.

Wow... I just don't see why anyone would do this... I realise there are some ******* idiots in the world but this is just absurd.

Must bring back a lot of feelings, weirdly like losing him again to some degree I bet. Sorry for your loss fella :( :bro hug:

Aww cheers dude :)

It did bring back a lot of feelings. I'm a soft sod when it comes to emotions at the best of times, this hurt like hell though. This is one of the reasons I didn't visit him too regularly, always ended up a blubbering wreck.

It's weird, so long ago yet made it feel very raw indeed.

It doesn't get much lower than this.

Honestly can't imagine what kind of person would do this. God knows what other things scumbags like this think are acceptable.
