Installed 8GB, only shows 3.2GB!!!?

I currently have vista on a new laptop which also has office 2007, it seems whenever i close a word document it seems to think the program has stopped working and trys to restart it. its true that vista is better than it used to be but i am still finding issues with a number of things

Mine doesn't do that. You must have messed up something.

Might be a bad MS office install. I've got Office 2007 on both vista 32bit and 64 bit and never had that problem.

Xp is a 32 bit OS so it will only detect that much RAM. You should have Vista if your going to bother upgrading to 8GB.

You do realise there is a 64 bit version of XP?
